    B rians parents are supporterso Lexington Rescue Mission.But thats not what got him into ourLie Renewal Program. I was injail on alcohol-related charges andeverywhere I tried to get help, every

    door was shut. My dad told me aboutLexington Rescue Mission, but theydidnt have an opening right away soI waited. It was worth it!

    Tis place saved my lie.It saved my marriage. I did a180-degree change, and now Ive gota whole new lie! God changed myheart by putting me in a place whereIm held accountable. You dont just

    go to church on Sunday morningand hear about how to live; you doit every day. And people really seethe changes in you.

    I had a short use; alwaysliving in chaos. I got into fghtsa lot. I didnt have any balance in

    my lie. Now, theres balance. I eatwell. I have my health back. I workout regularly. And we do a lot omission work, giving back to thecommunity.

    God led meback home tomy family.

    I hurt my parents and thosewho loved me. I drank every nightand worked every day. I just beat mybody into the ground and in the end,I was beaten down. But coming into

    Over our months, a amily o our

    will eat about 1,440 individualmeals. Here at the Mission, well serveour amily more than 7,000 meals inthat same time! And while the USDAsays that the average meal cost is about$2.52 per person, the Mission can servea complete meal and provide access toa wide variety o other lie-changingservices or just $1.82!

    Between September 1 and December31, well have our busiest time o the

    year. With more than 7,000 meals to

    what you may not see are thendividuals whose lives have

    been changed orever.Here at the Mission we see

    hem every day. Men andwomen like Penelope whoveost their jobs and are receivinghelp rom the Mission until

    hey can fnd work. Andpeople like Brian who almostost hope until his lie wasurned around in our Lie

    Renewal Programs.More people than ever

    beore are coming to us orhelp. And as Tanksgivingpproaches, its going to betremendous job to care or

    hem all, but we believe wean. By aith in God andwith the help o each andvery one o our partners,t will all work out.

    Meeting Needs as They Arise

    Norman came to LexingtonRescue Mission looking orhelp. He had been homeless or thelast 11 years, since he had aged outo oster care. Lindsey Burke, our

    outreach social worker, was able tohelp him get an apartment at St.James Place, resolve his child supportissues and apply or Social Security.oday he is living on his own or thefrst time in his lie.

    I just want to say thank you oreverything you are doing to try to helpme, he wrote. God sees everything youare doing to help people. Its like a dream

    come true knowing that you are there orme and that you really care. Lindsey, Ijust wanted to say God bless you!

    Every day people like Normancome to the Mission looking or help,not knowing where to turn. Our socialworker, Lindsey, meets with theseclients, identifes their needs and helpsthem work toward solutions.

    She oers those in need clothing

    vouchers to the Mission thritstore, reerrals to Gods Pantry andSouthlands urniture bank, helps fndhealth care, glasses and dentures, aswell as providing housing and budget

    counseling, and she helps fnd resouor rent and utility assistance. Sheeven helps them navigate governmeprograms like Social Security, Food

    Stamps and Child Protective ServicMost importantly, she oers prayer,support, guidance and encouragemIts a real blessing to be able to oerelie to people who are crying out help, says Lindsey.

    About 50 clients per month mewith Lindsey during walk-in hours,Monday rom 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. aTursday rom 1 to 3 p.m. Tis all

    Many volunteers work on the

    rontlines at the Mission,serving meals, sorting clothes andteaching classes. But many workbehind the scenes, including ourMission Advocates.
