    GENERAL INFORMATION AUGUST 2011

    Registration for the Falcon Tennis ProgrammeSession 1 (2011-12)

    Please note that the registration dates for the Falcon TennisAcademy Session 1 are the 8th August - 19th August 2011.Registration forms can be collected and completed at theECA office located on the ground floor of the NIST sportscentre.

    BISAC (U13) Try-Out girls are on 17th, August 2011 from

    14.30 16.30. BISAC (U13) Try-Out boys are on19th,August 2011 from 14.30 16.30. (Register at the tenniscourt on this day)

    ***Falcon program will start for applicants on the 22ndAugust 2011***

    Payment of fees for Falcon Tennis Programme Session 1

    All fees for the program need to payed at theschool accounting office before the 2nd September 2011.

    Every day the Falcon programme helps our students tolearn not just a sport, but other qualities such as self-

    confidence, sportsmanship and the habits of an active,healthy lifestyle. We are committed to making sure that all

    kids have an opportunity to play and learn from this lifetime sport. We take a great deal of pride in ourcommitment to provide you with a fun tennis environmentand the professional coaching staff to help your child learn

    and improve. Over the duration of the session, studentsshould begin to have a better understanding of thesefundamentals: contact and balance, an introduction tobasic racket skill and movement skills to improve hand/eyecoordination using mini tennis lots of fun games

    We have the Falcon Nest Programme for Y1-Y3 and theFledgling Falcon Programme for Y3-Y7. All

    programmes are offered five days a week from 2.30to 3.30 pm. We recommend that juniors sign up forat least 2 days week to maximize their development.

    Each player needs to bring their kit, tennis shoes, andracket to practice. If your child needs a racket we can makea suitable recommendation. Please contact ECA office orCoach Ko ([email protected])

    SECONDARY TENNIS PROGRAMME!!!

    The Flying Falcon programme is designed for thebeginner and intermediate players of secondaryages with little or no previous playing experience.At the beginning of each school session all playersare evaluated and placed into three sectionsaccording to their age, ability level, and goals.These three sections have been created for coachingand organizational purposes and are named; Flying

    Gold and Flying Silver sections.

    The vision of the Falcon programme is to create an

    environment where our players can move into a slightlymore advanced setting with the coaches carefullymonitoring the growth and development of the players toensure their progress. The Falcon programme emphasizes:

    hand/eye coordination and movement development whilelearning the basic rules of tennis including scoring,and helping the players progress with the fundamentals ofstroke development. Each player is urged to strive to moveinto a more advanced section or programme (i.e. Falcon)this should this be their goal.

    The Falcon programme is a one hour programme from 3:30-4:30pm Monday through Saturday. To register for thisprogramme sign up online during normal ECA registrationperiods. The enrollment limit is 12 players per term.

    Falcon Tennis Series

    WHAT IS THE FALCON TENNIS SERIES?

    Its a one week tournament every tennis session for thecommunity and especially for the Falcon players

    WHAT IS THE FALCON TENNIS SERIES FOR?

    1. To encourage the falcon tennis players to compete in atournament environment.

    2. To continue the players improvement through tennisgames.

    3. To maintain/increase the interest of tennis in our NISTcommunity

    4. To learn how to officiate.

    5. To develop sportsmanship attributes through tennis.

    What do the players get from the Falcon Series?

    Each series, players will collect points to count towards

    the FALCON PLAYER OF THE YEAR Award.
