Graphic Narrative The Princess and the Pea Summary - There was a prince who traveled the world trying to find a princess. Then one day when there was a storm a young woman arrived at the castle, claiming to be a princess. The Queen took her into a room to sleep where she put a pea under twenty mattresses. The next morning the Queen asked her how she slept to which she replied terrible, due to the fact she couldn't get comfortable. After the prince had therefore got his mother, the Queen's approval he married the young girl shortly after. Characters - Princess, a prince and the Queen. (Could possibly included other princesses from other countries as a collective) Location – Several different countries, a castle, a bedroom within the castle. Audience - Three to six years old. Style – Cartoon, simplistic in terms of colours. Adaptation – Make more modern it possibly but apart from that no really adaptation Three Little Pigs Summary - Three pigs build three different houses one made of straw, one made of sticks and one made of bricks, as they each think there house will be better than the others. Then one day a wolf comes along and finds the first pig with a house of straw and threatens to blow the house down. The wolf achieves this but the pig runs away to his brothers house, the wolf follows him and the same situation happens again, he threatens to blow the house down and he does but before he can eat the two little pigs they run away to the other pigs house. The wolf tries to blow the house down but he can't because it's made of bricks so he climbs down the chimney but the pigs lit the fire and then the wolf get's killed by burning to death. Characters - Three pigs and a wolf

Three Little Pigs

Summary - Three pigs build three different houses one made of straw, one made of sticks and one made of bricks, as they each think there house will be better than the others. Jack and The Bean Stalk

Summary - There was an old woman who lived with her only son Jack and there cow milky-white. They lived of the money that they got from selling the milk that the cow made but one day the cow didn't make any milk and the same thing happened the next day. The mother then told Jack that she had to

sell the cow so that they could eat but Jack didn't want to as the milky-white was his only friend. Eventuality Jack takes the cow into market to sell and somehow meets a man who he sells the cow to for 5 "magic beans". He goes home and his mother is furious. She through the beans out the window and then set Jack straight to his room. When Jack woke up the next morning the beans grew into a giant stalk high up into the sky. Jack climbed the bean stalk and found a giant house, within that house was a sleeping giant and a chicken who laid golden eggs. He went back up again and tried to steal a harp but it made to much noise and woke the giant up, The giant chased Jack all the way out of his house and down the bean stalk but before he could reach the ground, Jack as his mother for the Axe. He chopped the bean stalk down and as he did the giant fell to his death

Characters - Jack, Jack's mother, Milky-white (Cow), the giant and the Old man selling the beans.

Location – Farm house, garden, forest path, giant's house.

Audience - Three to six years old.

Style – Cartoon, simplistic in terms of the colours (The giant's house will be more detailed just to empathize that he has more money/riches in comparison)

Adaptation – Make the book more modern in terms of the time it was set period in which it was set. So elements such as the money that would be used would change as well as the clothing the characters would wear and the way in which they speak.
