Globetrotting OnlineThe next best thing to being there, traveling online is a good way to get away. Many of the world’s tourist destinations are using technology so that virtual travelers can tour and interact with locales. Here’s a sample of some digital tours:

• Australia’s Great Barrier Reef AttenboroughsReef.com

• Acropolis of Athens AcropolisVirtualTour.gr

• Peru’s Machu Picchu YouVisit.com/tour/MachuPicchu

Use the search terms “virtual tour” with the names of other famous places, and you’ll likely find they offer online experiences. There are tours of the Eiffel Tower, Great Wall of China, Taj Mahal, and the Egyptian pyramids. NASA even has out-of-this-world trips to the International Space Station and explorations of other solar systems.

Happy 100th to ToniOur resident Toni Underwood turned 100 last month and we celebrated in style. Toni was a nurse in WWII and served in Normandy ... just one of many amazing accomplishments in her 100 years. Her daughter, Maria Murray, was present to help celebrate her red carpet walk and as always, Toni was dressed to the hilt with a red stole, crown, and even a sparkly mask. A beautiful rose bush will be planted in the Fairwinds Rose garden to honor this landmark birthday.

Edna Parker is another Fairwinds resident who will be turning 100 this month. Must be something in the water here at Fairwinds Redmond. Happy Birthday, Edna.

Cornhole TournamentOur residents love Cornhole. We recently held a Cornhole Tournament which was between residents and employees. The residents won out! Jim Sewell was the big winner and Lucy Smith was the runner up. Thank you to all who participated in such a fun event.
