LET’S MAKE MAN IN OUR

IMAGE!

What do you see when you look

in the mirror? When I look in the

mirror I have to

remind myself to

judge nothing

before its time,

He will finish the

work he started in

us. 15 years ago

laying in a

hospital bed 10 hours after a major

surgery, my nurse had unplugged my

epidural and within 3 hours I was

unable to move

or speak the

pain came

upon me so

suddenly and

extreme that I

went into

shock, I was

found by the

CNA who after

checking my

vitals ran to get

the nurse. As

the nurse was

hooking me

back up to the

epidural she

said: I just

wanted to

make sure you

didn’t go have

another

cigarette and

leave my floor

while I was on duty. Weeks later the

Holy spirit reminded me of my

prayer to God that I wanted to be like

Jesus and that I was ready to go to

the cross. He said: Candace “What

were you

thinking

while you

laid there in

such pain

unable to

move as the

nurse

explained to you why she did that to

you? Where you praying forgive her

Father for she doesn’t know what

she’s doing?

As I thought

about the

question I

realized I had

murder in my

heart.

(One who has

been forgiven

much loves

much) I was at

a CR retreat a

few weeks ago

and we were

having a good

old fashion foot

washing. I

said” Lord

who’s feet do

you want me to

wash? He

replied: look

around the

room, do you

see someone who you consider to be

your Judas? That’s the persons feet

you should wash.

BUT GODLINESS WITH

CONTENTMENT IS GREAT

GAIN.

12 Therefore, as the elect of

God, holy and beloved, put on

tender mercies, kindness,

humility, meekness,

longsuffering; 13

bearing with one

another, and forgiving one

another, if anyone has a

complaint against another; even

as Christ forgave you, so you

also must do. 14

But above all

these things put on love, which is

the bond of perfection.

December 2011 [Edition 1, Volume 1]

With JOY I look all around but no

Judas, however, I did find myself in a

chair in the middle of the room

getting my feet washed by a woman

who was weeping, when I looked up

I noticed all the lady’s were sitting in

a circle around me singing “Jesus

loves me this I know” There are no

words to explain what was happening

to my heart and spirit that very

moment. To live is Christ to die is

gain. I have not apprehended what

exactly I have been apprehended for

but this one thing I do, I forget those

things which are behind and I press

toward the mark and the high call of

God on my life and part of that call is

to Mother Fairhaven.

THE WOMAN WHO WASHED HER FEET!

I couldn’t help it, God told me to do it…So I did.

My name is Brenda. About 4 years

ago I had two heart attacks and a stroke

in one month, but I just didn’t get it

still. Onward to the road of my

destruction and use of abusing drugs I

came to a place where I realized that

where I was, and who I was with was

not a good thing, I was quite out of

control and I needed to do something about it. After I had a

year clean I noticed there was still something missing I just

didn’t know what. My sister cleaned up her act also but she

seemed to be doing much better than I. My wonderful

mother and sister told me about a place called Fairhaven, I

had no idea there was such a place. They give you a chance

to live a normal life, help you get back on your feet and most

important they help you find God if you want to. Fairhaven

is a Christian home however not once did they push

Christianity on me nor make me feel

uncomfortable” they are not bible

thumpers” I never had religion in my

life, my Dad was atheist and we didn’t

go to church. At my sisters persistence

to try out Fairhaven I wasn’t sure but I

gave it a chance and what a beautiful

chance it became. Life is not a bowl of

cherries and I have yet to clean up some things in my past

but it has become a whole lot easier to work on. My mind

had found a peace and serenity I really cannot explain. I was

saved after two weeks of moving into Fairhaven they gave

me time to get a job and worked with me on my rent my life

has worth and meaning now. I would hate to think about

where I would be if it were not for Fairhaven Today I am

well, at peace, have a good job, I love my church and I am

the Mentor for Fairhaven 3.

WHO EVER SAVES THEIR

LIVES WILL LOSE IT BUT WHO

EVER GIVES IT UP FOR ME

WILL GAIN IT.
