LOCAL RULES(For Additional Jr. Exhibit Information, Refer to Jr. Division Rules and Jr. Livestock Sale Rules)

General Information: This Handbook is produced in advance and is subject to any action that may cause revision or curtailment of classes, divisions, awards, premiums, or regu-lations listed .

Damage and Insurance: The 20th District Agricultural Association shall not be responsible for accidents or loss that may occur to any of the exhibitors or exhibits at a show .

Awards & Judging: If the signature of owner/agent is printed instead of written on the entry blank, awards may be forfeited . Placement of ribbons does not guarantee correct placing in judging . Only the official placing on the judging sheet constitutes the final placement . Errors will not be corrected unless applied for prior to October 1, 2021 . Judging will not be held in any class for late exhibitors .

Entry Procedures and Information1 . Use one entry form for each still exhibit department . Use one livestock entry form for each species of animal .

2 . It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to make corrections on entry forms and return before the entry deadline .

3 . All entries Due August 11 by midnight online . The Gold Country Fair is not responsible for technical or website issues.

4 . Entries in the 4-H Department are restricted to bona fide members of a Placer County 4-H Club . Entries in the FFA Department are restricted to FFA members enrolled in Placer County FFA Chapters . Entries in Grange Departments are restricted to youth Grange members enrolled in Placer County Granges . Independent exhibitors MUST reside in Placer County .

5 . NOTICE: Entries in 4-H, FFA, Independent and Grange divisions are restricted to residents of Placer County . Exhibitors whose club or chapter is in Placer County but who do not reside in Placer County must submit a letter requesting a waiver from this requirement to Gold Country Fair Management . The letter should explain the exhibitor’s reason for enrollment in an organization outside of their county of residency . In the case of livestock projects, the letter must also state the exhibitor’s guarantee that they intend to sell market animals at Placer County and/or Gold Country Fairs exclusively (the only exception is to sell a market animal at Jr . Grand National or California State Fair) .

6 . 4-H members: A bona fide 4-H member is a youth five (5) years old or in kindergarten as of December 31, 2019, to exhibit as a Primary member . Primary members are eligible to enter primary classes only . Primary members are not eligible to show large livestock or sell in the Livestock Auction . Jr ., Intermediate and Sr . 4-H members must be nine (9) years old or in the 4th grade by December 31, 2019 . Exhibitors are eligible to compete/exhibit through December 31 of the year they turn 19 years of age . Any questions as to eligibility rest with the Placer County 4-H Leader’s Executive Committee .

7 . FFA members may participate in classes when they enroll in high school vocational agricultural classes and may exhibit as members to the end of the calendar year following graduation .

8 . Grange members may exhibit if they are at least 5 years of age as of January 1, of the year of the year, and until the end of the calendar year in which the member reaches age 19 . Grange members ages 5 through 9 are subject to the same rules as 4-H Primary members .

9 . Independent Exhibitors must be at least 9-years-old or in the 4th grade by January 1, of the year of the fair . Exhibitors are eligible to compete/exhibit through December 31st of the year in which they turn 19 years of age . Independent Jr . exhibitors must enter an open Jr . class unless one is not available . If an open Jr . class is not available, Jr . exhibitors may enter an appro-priate FFA or 4-H class if they meet all appropriate FFA and/or 4-H age/grade, and State Rules requirements . Jr .s who have been FFA, 4-H or Grange project members within 60 days prior to the Fair are not eligible to compete in that project as independent Jr .s (150 days for market beef) . Each entry in these divisions shall have been made or produced by the exhibitor . Entries shall be made on Jr . Department entry forms provided by the Fair . The signature of a parent or guardian is required . State and Local Rules apply to all entries and scorecards in corresponding Sr . and Jr . Department classes shall be used unless otherwise provided in these divisions .

10 . ALL 4-H exhibitors, FFA exhibitors and Independent exhibitors MUST have completed mandatory Quality Assurance/ Ethics Training . Entry forms will not be accepted if training was not completed . All 4-H Leaders, FFA Advisors and Parents and/or Guardians of 4-H, FFA, and Independent Exhibitors must abide by all rules and regulations of the 4-H and FFA standards in the Exhibitor’s Handbook including Quality Assurance/Ethics Training rules and regulations .

11 . All Independent Exhibitors are required to show proof of liability insurance . County, District, and State Fairs cannot legally carry liability insurance covering Jr . exhibitors and/or their exhibits . Obtaining liability insurance is the responsibility and at the discretion of the Jr . exhibitors . A policy may be purchased by all exhibitors from California Fairs Service Authority (through the fair office) at a minimal cost .

12 . FFA: The official FFA Show Uniform shall be worn by all FFA exhibitors and by helpers in individual and chapter groups while showing at the Gold Country Fair . The official FFA Show Uniform shall consist of the following: white pants, white shirt with FFA emblem attached to left pocket, FFA tie, clean shoes or boots, cuffs to be worn over boots, FFA jacket; no hats or head gear of any kind .

4-H: Every 4-H exhibitor of livestock must wear the official uniform of his or her organization while showing his or her animals . The following 4-H uniform specifications must be followed: Boys: 4-H cap; 4-H tie or scarf; white shirt, short sleeve or long sleeve, buttoned at wrist; white or logan green pants with belt when belt loops are provided; shoes or boots are required;

boots, if worn, should be inside pants leg . Girls: 4-H cap; white blouse and white skirt or white dress of comparable design; or white or logan green pants with belt when belt loops are provided, green 4-H scarf with 4-H emblem

on back corners, with a fastener or 4-H tie; shoes or boots are required; boots, if worn should be inside pants leg . Independents: Must wear whites during competition . “Whites” shall consist of new-appearing, white trousers or skirt and a new-appearing, white blouse or shirt . Hats are not acceptable .

Open-toed foot wear, shorts, tee-shirts, sleeveless shirts or clothing with any artwork or embroidery are not acceptable . Any exhibitors not conforming to these qualifications will be disqualified from the class .

13 . Any Jr . exhibitor staying in a camper facility on the Gold Country Fairgrounds must be under the direct control and supervision of a responsible adult . Note: Anyone who had not made prior reservations will not be permitted to stay on the Fairgrounds .

14 . The rules and regulations prescribed for the Jr . Department have been formulated with the cooperation and approval of state leaders of Jr . groups . Rules applying to the Sr . Department also apply to the Jr . Department .

15 . Representatives and leaders of the Jr . groups should consult with the Fair Management in preparing the Exhibitor Handbook for the Jr . Department . The divisions and classes to be in-cluded in the Exhibitor Handbook should be selected so as to provide the maximum of competition in order that the greatest benefits of the program of education by comparison with established standards may be achieved .

16 . Jr . exhibitors are required to conform to written State and Local Rules and/or instructions . Failure to comply with the rules, or damage to Fair and/or other exhibitors’ property will result in loss of premium awards and expulsion from the Fairgrounds .

17 . Entries in Showmanship and the 4-H Department are restricted to bona fide members of a Placer County 4-H Club . Entries in the FFA Department are restricted to FFA members en-rolled in Placer County FFA Chapters . Entries in Grange Departments are restricted to youth Grange members enrolled in Placer County Granges . Independent Jr . exhibitors not affiliated with any organization can enter appropriate FFA or 4-H classes if they meet the age or grade level requirements and reside in Placer County .

18 . Entries in the Open Jr . Department are restricted to residents of Placer County .

19 . Sr . division of Open Dairy Goat is open to Placer County and the World . Sr . Sheep and Wool Sheep divisions entries are open to the world, while legal residents of Placer County have priority over others in the state of California .

20 . If the owner or co-owner of livestock or other exhibits used or housed outside Placer County is a bona fide resident of Placer County, then such livestock or other exhibits in which they have a financial interest shall be eligible for entry in the local class . Evidence of residence may be required, i .e .: current driver’s license and/or voter registration card .

21 . To ensure the safety of exhibitors, livestock and fairgoers, no dogs are allowed on the Fairgrounds – except those used as guide dogs for the disabled or entered in the dog show (one hour prior to and one hour after the dog show, only) .

22 . By the signature on the entry form, each exhibitor agrees to have his or her animals, pens, stalls, and barn aisle cleaned and in show condition twice daily, before 10:00 am and 5:00 pm each day of the fair . Aisles, pathways, and approaches must be clean at all times . Storage of tack is forbidden in center aisle . Excessive tack and feed will be removed at the exhibitor’s expense . In addition to the above, it is required that each livestock exhibitor (Sr .s – herdsman) personally care for his or her animals once each day . There will be no exceptions . Periodic stall checks will be made . Failure to comply will forfeit premiums and exhibit privileges .

23 . Any foul and/or abusive language, and/or physical abuse used toward any Fair Personnel, Weighmaster, Sale Committee Member, Judge, animal, etc ., by an exhibitor and/or their parent will result in immediate expulsion from the Fairgrounds for the duration of the Fair and forfeiture of eligibility in future Gold Country Fairs .

24 . Exhibitors, leaders, advisors and parents found in violation of rules or in practicing unethical or harmful behavior with the fair program shall be penalized by forfeiture of awards and/or privileges as may be deemed appropriate to the circumstances . The Management shall report any such incidences to the Division of Fairs and Expositions in writing and such reports may become the basis for the Gold Country Fair or any other fair to refuse entries .

25 . Requests for refunds must be made in writing to the Fair, and may be granted only upon approval of the Fair Board of Directors . No refund of less than ($5 .00) will be given . A . Refunds may be made only because of sickness, accident, or death, cancellation of a class or return of entries for lack of exhibit space . B . Non-selected exhibits in a juried show are not eligible for refunds . C . For animal classes, request must be made prior to the event . Requests involving health or soundness of an animal must be accompanied by a veterinarian’s certificate .

26 . No entry will be accepted when an exhibitor dictates conditions under which he or she will exhibit .

27 . The Management reserves the right to interpret the rules and regulations and to settle questions of difference .

28 . All Livestock and Small Animal Entry Forms that are not complete by August 11, 2020 will be charged a $25 penalty fee . The required information and penalty fee MUST be turned in by August 18, 2020, in order to participate at fair .

29 . No entry will be judged if fees are outstanding on that entry . Exhibitors whose parents or legal guardians have fees or payments outstanding with Gold Country Fair, including the Jr . Livestock Auction may not participate until payment is made in full .

30 . Note: the exhibitor handbook is subject to change .

31 . Attention Exhibitors: FFA classes Novice and Sr . will show first, followed by 4-H Showmanship classes Novice, Jr . and Sr . .

32 . ALL auction & premium checks not cashed after 90 days are considered null and void . Checks will not be reissued after 90 days . NO EXCEPTIONS .

Electrical Extension Cord & Power Strip Safety• ALWAYS make sure that cord is rated for the load (amperage) it will carry . Cord size vs . Load rating is as follows: (awg = American Wire Gauge)• 10 awg cord = 30 amps max .• 12 awg cord = 20 amps max . (best size overall)• 14 awg cord = 15 amps max . • 16 awg cord = 10 amps max . • ALWAYS inspect for defects such as fraying or broken insulation, exposed conductors, or missing ground blade• Box fans are not permitted • DO NOT use an extension cord that has the unused length coiled or looped smaller than a 24” loop . A tightly coiled cord generates heat and could cause a fire .• DO NOT allow electrical cords to lay on the ground outside of the exhibitor’s stall pen or tack space or in any public walk spaces• DO NOT alter a cord to perform a task it is not designed for• DO NOT remove the grounding prong from a three-wire cord to fit the plug in a two-pronged receptacle/cord . • DO NOT plug extension cords together to reach an outlet . One appliance per cord unless the cord is rated and factory supplied with multiple plug-ins . • DO NOT us adaptors to plug in extra appliances into extension cords• DO NOT plug power strips into extension cords . Power strips should be plugged into receptacles only, and extension cords plugged into power strips • DO NOT enter, alter or attempt to direct wire into any fairground electrical panel• DO NOT remove and/or replace any circuit breaker• DO NOT use “cam-lock” type connectors to splice single pole conductors .• DO NOT splice extension cords . • DO NOT use space heaters, electric skillets, toasters, coffee makers, hot plates or any other appliances in livestock barns• NO storage flammable or combustible liquids or machines• NO generators or port-a-coolers or any device run by generators will be allowed in the barns . The number of livestock cooling fans may be limited based on space and electrical service available .• DO NOT block or obstruct fire hoses, fire extinguishers or other fire equipment .• ALWAYS report electrical problems to fair management .

JUNIOR LIVESTOCK RULES1 . ALL INFORMATION AND SIGNATURES MUST BE LISTED ON THE ENTRY FORM . Entry Forms that are not complete by August 11, 2020 will be charged a $5 .00 penalty fee .

2 . JUDGING ORDER will be dteremined by the fair office schedule .

3 . GRADE FOR THE 2020-2022 SCHOOL YEAR IS THE ONE TO BE LISTED ON THE ENTRY FORM .

4 . LIVESTOCK OWNERSHIP: Jr . Exhibitors must be the bona fide owners of all livestock entries, 60 days prior to the opening date of the Fair . In addition, Jr . exhibitors must be bona fide owners of market beef 150 days prior, market sheep, swine and goats 60 days prior and bona fide owners of rabbit, poultry and cavy entries 30 days prior to the opening date of the fair . EACH ANIMAL MUST BE OWNED BY THE Jr . EXHIBITOR, AND PART OF A PROJECT UNDER THE EXHIBITOR’S CARE AND MANAGEMENT FOR THE STATED LENGTH OF TIME .

5 . In order to be eligible to show and/or sell an animal at the Gold Country Fair, 4-H members must have been enrolled in 4-H by November 30, 2019 .

6 . REGISTERED LIVESTOCK: Exhibitors must submit a copy of registration certificate for each animal, to be turned in by August 11, 2020 . • All information MUST be supplied on entry form: (1) Dam, Birthdate and Ear Tag, Notching or Tattoo, or by (2) The Registration Number . Registration number of sire for Get of Sire entries .

Registration number of dam for Produce of Dam entries . • Ownership of Registered Animals will be verified by the DATE OF SALE, as listed on the Registration Certificate, if the date is clearly stated and identified as such . If it is not, then the

date that the Breed Association Recorded the Registration Certificate, identifying the exhibitor as owner, shall be used to determine the required length of ownership .

7 . IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: An official Gold Country Fair ear tag/tattoo is required on all market animals from the time of weigh-in to the release of animals on Sunday, Sep-tember 9, 2020 . All Livestock (including Pygmy Goats) MUST have Ear Tags or tattoo identification in order to enter the Fair . Only fair tags and scrapie tags are allowed at fair weigh in .

8 . Livestock will not be released until all stalls/pens/cages have been cleaned to the satisfaction of Fair Management . Exhibitors must obtain a Release Slip from Livestock Superintendent and present it at the Exit Gate .

9 . No Premium Award will be paid on any animal not meeting class requirements of weight, age, identification, etc .

10 . An exhibitor may enter up to two (2) market animals per specie at the Gold Country Fair .

11 . Each exhibitor will be allowed to sell only 1 market entry regardless of species: 1 Beef, or 1 Hog, or 1 Sheep, or 1 Goat, or 1 pen of Rabbits, 1 dozen eggs, or 1 Pen of Chickens, or 1 Turkey . Animals eligible for the sale must be declared within one hour of the conclusion of the show . All declarations must be made to the Jr . Livestock Office .

12 . All Champions and Reserve Champions must sell . Only in the instance that an exhibitor is awarded both a Champion and a Reserve Champion will an exhibitor be allowed to sell two animals .

13 . The Limit of one (1) market entry to be sold through the Jr . Livestock Auction has the following Pen exceptions: Rabbits: One entry to consist of three (3) Rabbits Chicken: One entry to consist of two (2) Chickens Ducks: One entry to consist of two (2) Ducks

14 . Market exhibitors with multiple animals will have one (1) hour after the judging of their last animal to declare which animal they wish to sell . All declarations must be made to the Jr . Livestock Office . If no declaration is made, the decision will be made by the Jr . Livestock Office .

15 . Only animals deemed worthy by the judge will be allowed to sell in the Jr . Livestock Auction . Not Market Ready and Not Market Acceptable animals will not be eligible for the Jr . Livestock Auction .

16 . Any animal that does not make the weight requirements of the market or feeder class or poultry pen, must be removed from the fairgrounds by midnight, Wednesday, September 9, 2020 . EXCEPTION – If the exhibitor has only one animal of a species entered in the fair, and it does not make the weight requirements of the market class, it may remain on the fair-grounds in order to be shown ONLY IN SHOWMANSHIP . This animal may not be advertised for sale, nor buyers solicited .

17 . LIVESTOCK ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL: Dates and times will be listed in the show schedule .

18 . No animal will be accepted in the barns unless it is entered as an individual in a Fair class or a pre-arranged educational display .

19 . SUBSTITUTIONS AND SCRATCHES: Any substitution or scratch of an animal must be made at the time registrations are checked .

20 . No person or exhibitor will be permitted in the judging enclosure or ring while stock or exhibits are being judged, unless he is an attendant of the animal or exhibit under consideration .

21 . All feed and supplies deliveries will be made on Wednesday, September 9 during drop off . If additional restocking is needed, please contact the fair office .

23 . All livestock exhibitors shall go to the LIVESTOCK OFFICE as soon as all their animals are stalled, to receive stall cards and admission credentials . These will be given out as soon as all deficiencies have been cleared with the office .

24 . STALLS – CLEANING, BEDDING AND FEEDING: All bedding and feeds must be supplied by the exhibitor . Livestock entries must be bedded fully and only with clean, bright straw or shavings . Pens, stalls and barn areas must be kept clean .

25 . GROOMING AND CARE OF ANIMALS: All breeding animals must arrive groomed and ready for the show . Market animals are expected to be groomed . Exhibitors will receive an allotted

amount of time before the market/showmanship show .

26 . FOR SALE SIGNS are not allowed on any stalls/pens/cages or animals exhibited at the Fair .

27 . CONDITION OF ANIMALS: No painted or decorated animals allowed . All market animals must be in show groom condition when brought into the ring for judging and for sale order deter-mination, OR PREMIUMS WILL BE DISALLOWED . All sale animals must be in show ring condition when brought into the auction ring, OR ANIMALS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM SALE .

28 . VET CHECKS AND FEES: Any request for a veterinary check for animal(s) must be made to the Livestock Superintendent(s) . If they feel it is needed, they will contact a veterinarian . If requested by the exhibitor, the exhibitor will pay the fee . Services or medications rendered by the veterinarian on the grounds will be paid for by the exhibitor . If the request for a veter-inary check is made by someone other than the exhibitor, and the animal(s) is found to have a problem, the exhibitor will pay the fee . All animals are subject to veterinary inspection as deemed necessary by Fair Management .

29 . It is mandatory that Jr . Exhibitors must present their own animals in the ring when animals are called for judging, sale order determination, and auction . Special permission may be grant-

ed by Fair Management through the Livestock Superintendent or his representative to use a substitute for handling the animal if a legitimate excuse is presented in writing and approved prior to judging . Substitute handler must be a Jr . exhibitor who meets the eligibility requirements for a Jr . exhibitor at the Gold Country Fair . If an exhibitor has two entries in a class, the second animal can be shown by an assistant handler only if the exhibitor is present showing the other animal . (Exception: If an exhibitor has entries in more than one specie and, due to show scheduling the times overlap, a substitute handler may show the second animal . This does not apply to showmanship classes .)

30 . REGULATION UNIFORM: Livestock exhibitors must be dressed in regulation uniform, as prescribed by State & County 4-H Leaders, Grange and FFA Advisors, or they will not be per-mitted in the show ring or auction ring . Independent Jr . Exhibitors shall wear whites during competition . Whites shall consist of new-appearing white trousers or skirt and a new-appearing white blouse or shirt . Hats are not acceptable . Open-toed foot wear, shorts, tee-shirts, sleeveless shirts or clothing with any artwork or embroidery are not acceptable .

31 . ANY OBJECTIONABLE BEHAVIOR by exhibitors during the fair and livestock related events may subject the exhibitor to disqualification of awards and/or privileges, including disquali-fication at future Gold Country Fairs and dismissal from fairgrounds of exhibitor and exhibits .

32 . VIOLATION OF THESE RULES WILL SUBJECT EXHIBITOR TO DISQUALIFICATION OF PREMIUM AWARDS .

33 . MARKET LAMBS – To qualify for exhibit after December 31, 2000, market lambs must be docked such that the tail (dock) is healed and can be lifted from the exterior . Lambs that have no dock will not be eligible . Market Lambs must show lamb’s teeth .

34 . All sheep and goats entering fairs require individual scrapie identification . Animals must be enrolled in the scrapie program . The Fair WILL NOT automatically be providing scrapie tags for market lambs and market goats . Lost scrapie tags are the exhibitor’s responsibility .

35 . Any inhumane activity to animals by the exhibitor, as determined by fair management, may cause disqualification, forfeiture of awards, and removal of the exhibit or exhibitor from the fairgrounds . This includes, but is not limited to: icing, slapping, muzzling, drenching or improper care of exhibitor’s animals .

36 . Fair management reserves the right to declare ineligible for competition and/or remove any entry which is unhealthy, injured, lame, unsound or endangers public safety . 37 . Exhibitors must check in prior to weighing livestock . Exhibitors will not be allowed across the scale until medical declaration, bill of sale and transportation slip (beef only) are turned in .

38 . ALL auction checks not cashed after 60 days will be considered null and void . Checks will not be reissued .

39 . Exhibitors will be notified via email with instructions to upload auction photos . 40 . If an animal does not sell in the auction, one of the following will happen based on their species: Large market animals will be sold for resale price and be resold to the slaughter house . Small animals and replacements will return home with the exhibitors .

JUNIOR LIVESTOCK AUCTIONSaturday, September 12, 2020 at 10:00 am

The Jr . Livestock Auction is open only to FFA Members, 4-H Members, Grange Members and Independent Jr .s who reside in Placer County . Each exhibitor may sell ONE ANIMAL, OR ONE PEN OF POULTRY OR RABBITS, at the Gold Country Fair . Only in the instance that an exhibitor is awarded both a Champion and a Reserve Champion will an exhibitor be allowed to sell two animals .1 . PRE-TAG & OWNERSHIP – Each exhibitor may pre-tag not more than two animals of each species . Gold Country Fair Pre-tag for Swine, Sheep and Goats will be on Saturday, July 6th,

from 7:00 am to 11:00 am Market steers must have been tagged at the Gold Country Fairgrounds on April 13th to be eligible to show at the Gold Country Fair . Placer County Fair weights are not acceptable . Animals will be tagged or tattooed at pre-weigh times, and must have been pre-tagged in exhibitor’s name to be eligible for Auction . If not pre-tagged, any animal in a market class WILL ONLY be allowed to show in that class and in showmanship, BUT WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR AUCTION . For those animals tagged at the state fair on or prior to the applicable date for their specie here, the state fair credential and tag will be accepted as proof of ownership .

2 . ENTRY FORMS – All animals listed on entry form in Market Classes for Beef, Sheep, Swine, Goat, Poultry, Rabbit Meat Pens and Replacement Females will be considered as Auction Animals . If you do not want your animal included in the Auction, or if it is not eligible, you must indicate NOT FOR AUCTION on the entry form, OR state it at weigh-in, OR notify the Livestock Office .

3 . Limit of one (1) animal to be sold through the Jr . Livestock Auction with the following exception:One pen consisting of three (3) rabbits, two (2) chickens or two (2) ducks . 4 . The 2020 Jr . Livestock Auction is a TERMINAL SALE FOR ALL ANIMALS, except Replacement Heifers, Ewes, Gilts & Does . 5 . WEIGH-IN – Market steers, hogs, lambs, goats and replacement females shall be weighed Wednesday morning . Weights will be posted by the Auction Committee . This weight shall be

the selling weight . There shall be NO ABNORMAL METHODS USED TO ALTER THE WEIGHT OF THE ANIMAL (force feeding, over exercising, etc .) . Poultry Meat Pens and Rabbit Meat Pens will be weighed Wednesday morning .

6 . Weighmasters will be provided . Weights will be read by an official . No re-weigh or pre-weighing will be permitted . If weight is contested, it must be done immediately . The animal will be taken from the scales, the scales will be rebalanced, and the animal will again be weighed . The weighmaster’s decision is final . Under no circumstances shall the animal leave the scale area . Excessive exercise of a market animal for the purpose of weight reduction is forbidden on the Fairgrounds . Excessively wet animals will be disqualified by the weighmaster . Underweight market animals entered in a market class will automatically drop to a feeder class, overweight feeder animals may NOT move up to a market class, only one (1) feeder entry per specie is allowed per exhibitor .

7 . LIVESTOCK ELIGIBILITY – All animals eligible for the sale must have been shown as individuals in their respective classes of the market divisions and weigh within the weight limits of the market divisions .

8 . Market lambs and goats must be slick sheared within 10 days of the opening day of the fair (20 tooth goat comb) . 9 . Market lambs and market goats must show milk teeth . 10 . PAY WEIGHT LIMITS - Top weight limits have been removed for the following species and the top pay weights for sale purposes are as follows: Beef = 1300 pounds, Sheep = 150

pounds, Goats = 105 pounds, Swine = Top weight limit is 285 lbs ., top pay weight is 270 lbs .11 . Independent exhibitors must have “on ground” supervision by a responsible adult . 12 . CONDITION OF ANIMALS – No Painted or Decorated animals allowed . All market animals must be in SHOW GROOM CONDITION when brought into the ring for judging, or PREMIUMS

WILL BE DISALLOWED . All sale animals must be in SHOW GROOM CONDITION when brought into the AUCTION RING, or ANIMALS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM SALE . 13 . SALE ORDER – (A) All animals eligible for the sale must be shown as individuals in their respective classes and will be selected at the judge’s discretion . Animals will be placed in sale

order by official show clerks based upon the judge’s direction . They will be designated from Market Ready & Market Acceptable animals . Only animals deemed worthy by the judge will be allowed to sell in the Jr . Livestock Auction . B) Sale order will be posted prior to sale . Any error or omission must be brought to the attention of the Livestock Office prior to sale or sale order shall stand as printed .

14 . All market animals MUST have their photo taken . These photos will go to the buyers . The photo booth is set up near the swine judging ring . A fee of $20 .00 will be deducted from the auction checks for each photo .

15 . AUCTION – Animals must be presented in the Auction Ring by the owner (in uniform) and penned after the sale . Failure to observe this rule may result in the animal being excluded from the sale .

16 . Only market animals deemed worthy by the judge will be allowed to sell at the Jr . Livestock Auction . Primary members are not eligible to show or sell market animals .17 . All market exhibitors have one (1) hour after the judging of their last market animal to declare their sale animal and sign a declaration form . Forms are available in the Livestock Office

and at the photo booth . Only animals with signed declaration forms will sell . Fair staff will not chase you down to get your signature . Forms are to be turned into the Livestock Office . 18 . PRICE PER POUND – All animals, except replacement females and scholarship animals, will be sold on a price per pound basis . 19 . COMMISSION – Seven percent (7%) commission will be charged for each sale, three percent (3%) for all add-ons . This commission fee will be placed in a Jr . Livestock Auction Fund for

promotion expenses and Auction Contingency Fund . 20 . SWINE, SHEEP & BEEF FEES – These federally mandated promotion fees will be deducted from the auction checks . Swine $0 .40/$100 .00 sale price; Sheep $0 .70/100 lbs; Beef

$2 .75 . flat fee for brand inspection . 21 . PROCESSING REGULATIONS – All animals destined for processing after the auction should be delivered only to licensed state or federal plants (California Food & Agriculture Code and

Federal Code) . Auction animals declared unfit and rejected at the processors ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SELLER . Rabbits and Poultry are to be processed by producer, and delivered to the buyer .

22 . Responsibility for sale animals remains with the seller until 5:00 pm, Sunday, or until Fair staff has removed them; thereafter, the responsibility will rest with the transportation company for safe delivery . Beef animals to be delivered by seller with new or equivalent halter and neck rope . (If identified, ropes and halters will be returned .)

23 . ALL AUCTION PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND ORIENTATION MEETING ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4th, 2020, BEFORE WEIGH-IN .

REPLACEMENT HEIFERS1 . Replacement heifers must be owned by the exhibitor for a minimum of 150 days prior

to the opening of the fair . 2 . All replacement heifers must be weighed in on Wednesday, September 9th, from

6:00-8:00 pm 3 . Heifers must be between 6 and 24 months of age . 4 . Heifers 18 months and over, must be bred . Bred heifers entered in this divi-

sion must have a mandatory pregnancy confirmation by a veterinarian with-in 30 days prior to arrival at the fairgrounds, at exhibitor’s expense . Proof of pregnancy must be turned in to the Livestock Office on check-in day .

5 . Purebred and crossbred heifers will be shown and judged together .6 . All heifers must have proof of Brucellosis vaccination . 7 . Brand Inspector’s requirements for ownership will be enforced . Brand inspection and

bill of sale must be turned in at weigh-in on Wednesday, September 4th . 8 . A minimum of five entries must be judged in order for a Champion and Reserve

Champion to be awarded . 9 . Only the top two placing heifers, determined by the judge are eligible to sell in the Jr .
