Projects from more than 50 countries have been shortlisted in the 2014 World

Architecture Festival Awards.

The Akiha Ward Cultural Centre in Niigata City, Japan, was submitted in the culture

category by Chiaki Arai Urban and Architecture Design.

The winners will be judged over the course of the three-day festival in Singapore in October. The Stamp House, a residence in Cape Tribulation,

Australia, is designed by Charles Wright Architects.

This year’s jury, led by British architect Lord Richard Rogers, includes some of the world’s leading architects and designers, such as Rocco Yim (Hong Kong), Julie Eizenberg (USA), Enric Ruiz Geli

(Spain) and Peter Rich (South Africa). The Yalikavak Marina Complex in Bodrum, Turkey, by EAA-Emre Arolat Architects was

submitted in the shopping category.

The Aula Medica at the medical university Karolinska Institutet in Sweden was designed

by Wingardh Arkitektkontor AB.
