There an acute shortage of skilled paramedical
workforce in India. There is a need for over 10 lakh
skilled paramedical personnel in India in next five
years. There is an urgency to increase this workforce as
well as impart quality training to improve their skill sets.
There are several colleges, offering paramedical
courses in the country. Most of these colleges don't
have good faculty or infrastructure. The combination of
non-availability of good educational programmes and
university/ statutory monitoring, are preventing the
country's existing paramedical workforce be
adequately skilled to cater to national and global needs.
The middle, lower middle and lower socio economic
income class in tier 2 or tier 3 cities or as a matter the
villages, who by virtue of lack of opportunities for
employability driven skilled training as paramedic,
largely go unemployed or remain to be unorganized
labour. Essentially this huge target group need to be
focussed, trained, skilfully empowered to put them on
mainstream of socio-economic strata.
Paramedical is not just restricted to nursing it is the vast
field covers dozens of courses in its several, the
prominent among these are medical lab technology,
operation theatre technology, occupational therapy,
cardiac perfusion technology, renal dialysis technology,
orthotic and prosthetic technology, optometry,
radiography, radiotherapy, hospital administration,
management medical records administration, dental
hygiene and dental mechanic etc.
Sumandeep Vidyapeeth was started by a team of
medical professionals with an aim of establishing
centres of quality medical education and training and
provide affordable, scientific, evidence based health
care to marginalized sections of the society and
inculcate a culture of enquiry in faculty and students,
leading to a life time habit of ethical practice and
hypothesis based, community oriented research.
Due to the high potential of becoming the University of
Excellence, the Deemed to be University status was
conferred upon the Sumandeep Vidyapeeth u/s.3 of
UGC Act, 1956 established on 7-01-2007, Vide
Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource
Development (MHRD) Notification No. F.9-46/2004-
U.3 of the GOI, New Delhi and u/s 3 of the UGC Act,
1956 and UGC Notification No. F.No.6-1-6/2004 (CPP-rd1) dated. 3 March, 2007.The university is awarded
with NAAC A+ Grade with 3.53 CGPA out of 4.
Today with a sprawling, eco-friendly, lush green
campus, it houses six institutes dedicated to education
in medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy
and health care management. A, 1340 bedded modern
multispecialty hospital, equipped with state of the art
facilities, not only caters to training needs of these
institutions but also provides mostly free or highly
subsidized services, ranging from basic life support to
super-specialty care, to patients from abroad, state of
Gujarat & various neighbouring states.
The University has developed an employability driven
curriculum conducive to the practice of evidence based
education system. It has incorporated best teaching
techniques through an innovative continuous
cumulative evaluation system. The highly qualified and
experienced teachers and support staff drive the
academic and co-academic ambience of the university.
Continuing its effort to expand the equity of education
and extend the opportunity for skill based and job driven
courses to larger target group a separate “Faculty of
Para-Medical Sciences” has been established to impart
specialized skill enhancement training to that class of
students who are otherwise deprived of such
opportunities to be part of health care delivery system.
The primary aim of this faculty is to well fill the para-
medic gaps by providing quality modern and affordable
education. Academic sessions of Para-Medical
Courses shall begin with effect from the year 2016-17.
All the Paramedical courses are related to the medical,
dental, physiotherapy, nursing, pharmacy and
management programs already offered by constituent
institutions which are recognised by respective
statutory bodies such as UGC/ MCI/ DCI/ IAP/ PCI/
INC.

1. Located in Piparia village of Waghodia taluka about
10km away from Vadodara city which is well connected
by road, rail and air.

1. Admissions for Diploma, B.Sc and M.Sc courses is
offered on the basis of combined merit list prepared
out of marks scored at Written Test and Interview.
2.Minimum passing is 40% at written Test and Interview
taken together.
3.Written Test and Interview shall be held on the same
day.
4.The merit list will be posted on the website and
admission offer is made rank wise.
5.Student who has been offered the seat in a particular
course will have to complete the admission
formalities within stipulated date. If the student fails to
take admission before such date, his/her seat shall be
allotted to next member in the merit list
6.The cancellation of admission and refund of fees shall
be as per the University policy available on university
website

The candidates admitted for the courses in the
constituent colleges of the University are expected to
comply with the discipline and conduct rules of the
University. The Discipline committee of Sumandeep
Vidyapeeth will deal with all cases involving discipline
or conduct either sue motto or when referred to it by
the Principal/Dean of the College. The decision of the
Vice-chancellor shall be final and binding on all in this
regard.
It must be noted that the institute considers ragging as
a cognizable offence and shall take strong action
against the off enders. University has zero-Tolerance
for Ragging Following are the guidelines given by the
University Grant Commission and Statutory councils to
curb the Menage of Ragging in Universities /
Educational Institutions.
The word 'ragging' means the act of teasing,
taunting, playing practical joke upon someone or
holding comic parades and other activities during
certain period of a college term to raise money for
charity.
Forms of ragging
Ragging is found to take the following forms (the list
is only Indicative and not exhaustive)
Crisp Orders
- To address seniors as 'Sir’
- To perform mass drills;
- To copy class notes for the seniors;
- To serve various errands;
- To do menial jobs for the seniors;
- To ask/answer vulgar questions;
- To look at pornographic picture to 'shook the
fresher out of their innocence;
- To force to drink alcohol, scalding tea, etc.
- To force to do acts with sexual overtones,

The following could be the possible punishments for
those who are found guilty of participation in or
abetment of ragging. The quantum of punishment
shall naturally, depend upon the nature and gravity of
the offence as established by the Disciplinary
Committee or the court of law.
1. Cancellation of admission.
2. Suspension from attending classes.
3. With holding / withdrawing scholarship /
fellowship and other benefits.
4. Debarring from appearing in any test/examination
or other evaluation process.
5. Withholding results.
6. Debarring from representing the institution in any
national or international meet, tournament, youth
festival etc.
7. Expulsion from the hostel.
8. Rustication from the Institution for verifying
period.
9. Expulsion from the institution.
10. Fine up to Rs. 25,000/-.
11. Rigorous imprisonment up to three years. While
the first 10 types of punishments can be awarded
by the appropriate authority of the institution
itself, the last punishment can be awarded only by
a court of law.

any capitation fee in lieu of admission to its
constituent colleges. It should also be noted that
