Jagathrakshagan, an industrialist, and committed educationist. The college has grown by leaps and bounds since its inception in 1985. Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research (BIHER) acquired deemed to be University status in the year 2003 by University Grants Commission (UGC). BIHER is providing multi-stream, multi-cultural and high- quality education to nearly 10000 students from all around the world. It is located 10 km from Chennai Airport, 5 km from Tambaram Railway station and 30 km from Central Railway Station. About the Department The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of the earliest departments started in this University. It has got expertise and infrastructure facilities in different fields of Mechanical Engineering such as CAD/CAM/CAE, Advanced Material science, Thermal Engineering, Machine Design and Manufacturing Engineering. The department is accredited by Accreditation Board for engineering and Technology (ABET). To impart training to students, faculties and to enhance R&D, activities. The department has signed MoUs with various Industries.
