OBJECTIVES:• To equip Ph.D scholars/Academicians and

Industry personnel with the basic knowledge of various analytical tools;

• To enable PhD scholars/Academicians and Industry personnel to identify and apply the right tool and technique while conducting research.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMMEWith an ever increasing complexity of business and social operation it has become a necessity to understand research methodology, research tools and analytical portion. Research methodology is a way to systematically solve the research problem. It may be understood as a science of studying how research is done scientifically. Research methodology covers the various steps that are generally adopted by a researcher in identification and analysis of a research problem. For an in-depth analysis of a research problem, the researcher needs to know the relevant techniques which can be applied, the type of data required for applying these techniques, possible interpretations of the results that would follow and limitations of the techniques which would be kept in mind while formulating the recommendations that follow from study. This programme is primarily targeted at researchers of management, economics, psychology, pure science and sociology etc. The focus of the programme is to provide the participants the knowledge about various data analysis techniques and their applications in solving and explaining the diversifying research problems. The participants would gain hands-on experience with SPSS and other statistical software.

PEDAGOGYThe pedagogy will be the judicious mix of class room activities such as lectures, group discussions, exercise, demonstration and practical sessions of SPSS and MS-Excel.

FOR WHOM• Those who are pursuing Ph.D and are finding it

tough to handle the data or are desirous to do PhD in future should attend this programme.

• Researchers and academicians interested into write quality research papers are also encouraged to attend this programme.

• People who are interested to undertake research projects from government and other funding agencies will find it very helpful.

Ÿ Data Measurement techniques & precautions while developing a scale

Ÿ Coding and entering data in SPSS

Ÿ Data Cleaning

Ÿ Performing EDA on SPSS

DAY 2 (Saturday, 21 December 2019)

Ÿ Correlation analysis

(For metric and non metric data including chi-square)

Ÿ Partial Correlation Analysis

Ÿ Simple linear regression analysis

Ÿ Hypothesis testing

(Three types of t-test, one way/two way/factorial ANOVA)

DAY 3 (Sunday, 22 December 2019)

Ÿ Multiple regression analysis

Ÿ Assumptions of multiple regression

Ÿ Exploratory factor analysis

**participants will be given full hands on to perform above mentioned tools on SPSS
