Giving back to our communitiesAt Schwan’s, we have a legacy of maintaining a business culture that supports efforts to make a difference in the communities where we live and work. Charitable giving from Schwan’s and Schwan’s Corporate Giving Foundation focuses on hunger, youth leadership and community. Here are a few recent efforts:

• Since July 2011, the subsidiaries of Schwan’s Company have donated nearly 6.8 million pounds of food and ingredients to Feeding America and its affiliated food banks.

• Since 2000, the company, its employees and the Schwan Corporate Giving Foundation have donated about $4.2 million to local chapters of the United Way.

• Through corporate giving efforts, employees have donated more than $1 million since 1999 to local charities through its Jean Day program. A portion of the donations came from matches from the company and the Schwan’s Corporate Giving Foundation.

• Schwan’s Company sponsors the Schwan’s USA CUP® soccer tournament. The tournament is the largest youth soccer tournament in the western hemisphere. The company also supports three community athletic centers: the Schwan’s Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota; Tony’s® Pizza Events Center in Salina, Kansas; and the Red Baron® Pizza Arena & Expo in Marshall, Minnesota.

• In 2013, Schwan’s Home Service launched a new fundraising program called Schwan’s Cares™. Schwan’s Cares™ is an online fundraising program in which charitable organizations can earn money for their cause. In 2016, the unique program helped more than 3,700 charitable organizations raise more than $975,000. The program eliminates many of the frustrations that come with most traditional money-raising methods by offering delivery as well as handling transactions.
