HISTORY Davie traces its history back to 1825. With well proven expertise in both marine and heavy industrial fields, Davie has completed over 700 vessels and drilling and production platforms. Davie has also fabricated numerous other products for a variety of industries including power, defence and transport. The list of products made at Davie stretches from railcars to sonar domes to hydro-electric and nuclear power generation components.

SHIP REPAIRS Ship repairs and conversions (in dock) of up to 364 m in length and 36.57 m in width.

SHIPYARD AREA 570 000 sq. m. (57 hectares).

WATER FRONT 2000 metres with 700 metres of sheet pile and concrete caissons type quays. The minimum water depth at the quays varies between 6 and 9 metres.

CONSTRUCTION Suitable for vessels with dimensionsBERTHS Berth 2 and 3 : 200 m x 32 m Berth 4 and 5 : 250 m x 60 m Equipped with gantry cranes (2) of 40 t and 35 t capacity.

BUILDINGS 57 Steel shops : 27 500 sq. m. Mechanical & Services shops : 16 600 sq. m. Stores and warehouses : 10 900 sq. m. Offices : 11 300 sq. m.

STEEL OUTPUT 20 000 metric tons per year.

IT & COMMS Modelling system TRIBON/AVEVA for the development of steelwork, outfitting design and manufacturing information. VOIP telephone system. T1 Internet. CCTV system. UHF communication system. In-house ‘GMAT’ inventory system.

Davie has eight quays, four open slipways, two covered slipways and two graving dry-docks. All berths are catered for by six tower and gantry cranes as well as four mobile cranes with safe working loads of up to 200 tonnes.
