ada remediation process

A Site and/or Buildings audit by PDS America is required to begin the remediation process.

The audit gives us our priorities and serves as a roadmap to remediation.

ada remediation process

The remediation process follows the U.S. Department of Justice recommendations.

The “Outside-In” process starts with “accessible parking areas using accessible paths or routes to accessible building entrances”.

The idea is to complete an accessible route from the parking area to the building !

ada project cd format

Based on current funding, remediation at most campuses is expected to include multiple projects over time.

Consequently, TBR requires an 8 ½ x 11 format for the project construction documents and the audit. This will allow for them to be stored together (side by side on the shelf ?) as “living documents” for reference on future ADA projects.

ada project guide

TBR is currently working with PDS America to complete the “Guide for Public Universities and Colleges”.

It is a comprehensive guide for understanding the ADA as it relates to higher education.

The State of Tennessee should adopt the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design in March of 2012.

We anticipate issuing the updated Guide at that time.

And now…….here’s Barry !!
