ImpEA aim and objectives

Main aim:

Objectives:

1. To identify key obstacles in implementation of the EA in the EHEA countries;

2. To support QA agencies in running EA-based programme accreditation procedures (ex ante and ex post)

3. To support HEIs in pursuing the external accreditation based on the EA

4. To develop an EA implementation toolkit

Desired impact

• Speeding up implementation of the European Approach

• Providing feedback to the ministries and the BFUG on possible

improvements of the European Approach

• Increasing HEIs willingness to develop joint programmes by reducing

bureaucratic barriers

• Increasing internationalisation of the accreditation procedures by

increasing number of experts with relevant knowledge and experience

What do we know by now?

European Approach implementation background report:

• Only 10% of HEIs know EA very well

• 80% of HEIs would like to be able to apply

• Recognition of the outcomes of the EA-based procedures is the main concern

• Main sources of information

• The European Commission and/or the local Erasmus+ agency - in more than 50% of cases

• EQAR and/or national/regional QA agency ca. 20%

• International and national events (combined) ca. 30%

Self-evaluation report • Discuss the language used – mind the further recognition process

• Plan ahead:

• Different timelines of international procedures compared to the national ones

• Emphasise the jointness of the programme
