Divine Mercy Sunday

Brothers and Sisters, On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, " Peace be with you." When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, " Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you." And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, " Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained."

On Holy Saturday night we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus from the death. We were very blessed to have bishop Rojas with us for the celebration! I wish you could see the joy of those who completed their initiation into our faith. We had baptism of 6 adults! When there is birth in the family there is the sign of life. Our parish is a live! We had 25 adult complete their initiation to Catho-lic Church. These signs should give us a big reason to rejoice this Easter season. God Mercy is boundless.

With Joy I would like to present to you today the names of those who were baptized, received first communion and confirmed on Holy Saturday night. We congratulate them and welcome them into our community of faith!

Domingo de la Divina Misericordia Hermanos y hermanas,

Al anochecer del día de la resurrección, estando ce-rradas las puertas de la casa donde se hallaban los discípulos, por miedo a los judíos, se presentó Jesús en medio de ellos y les dijo: " La paz esté con ustedes". Dicho esto, les mostró las manos y el costado. Cuando los discípulos vieron al Señor, se llenaron de alegría. De nuevo les dijo Jesús: " La paz esté con ustedes. Co-mo el Padre me ha enviado, así también los envío yo". Después de decir esto, sopló sobre ellos y les dijo: “Reciban el Espíritu Santo. A los que les perdonen los pecados, les quedarán perdonados; y a los que no se los perdonen, les quedarán sin perdonar". En la noche del Sábado Santo celebramos la resurrec-ción de Jesús de la muerte. ¡Fuimos muy bendecidos de tener al obispo Rojas con nosotros para la celebra-ción! Desearía que hubieras visto la alegría de aquellos que completaron su iniciación en nuestra fe. Bautiza-mos a 6 adultos! Cuando hay un nacimiento en la fa-milia, existe el signo de vida. ¡Nuestra parroquia esta viva! 25 adultos completaron su iniciación a la Iglesia Católica. Estas señales deberían darnos una gran razón para alegrarnos en esta temporada de Pascua. La Mise-ricordia de Dios no tiene límites. Hoy con mucha alegría me gustaría presentarles los nombres de los que fueron bautizados, recibieron la primera comunión y fueron confirmados el Sábado Santo por la noche. ¡Los felicitamos y les damos la bienvenida a nuestra comunidad de fe!
