social software:The term social software refers to huge range of web based programmes , services and tools.Social software contains user created items like blogs ,wikis and podcast.User extended services such as photo , videos and music sharing sites. Alternative communication resources - as instant massaging and virtual worlds and social networking sites.

Social networking services take advantages of social software tools to create online platforms for peoples to meet , share photos , videos , send massages , play games and many more.There are three primary types of social networks.i.Sites that contains a specific category directory. ii.Sites used as a platform to connect with friend or fans ( with customizable profile pages )iii.Sites that depend on sujjested systems linked to trust . ( for professional networking.Facebook is an example of second type social networking service.

2003 – 2006 the facebook investment and name changeBefore that Zuckeberg wrote a programme called ‘Facesmash’ on 28 october, 2003. he was second year student then at Harvard. the programme was based on if a person is attractive or not comparing it by hot or not.He hacked into the Harvards protected network in order to copy private dormitory ID images.Facesmash attracted 450visitor and 22000 photo views in it’s first four hour online.The site was instantly taken to several campus group list-servers, but was shutdown a few days later by the Harvard administration.

Facebook was created by Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg along with his Harvard college and fellow students Eduardo Severin , Andrwe Mc Collum , Dustin moskovitz and Chirs Hughes in 2004. The founders limitated the website’s membership to harvard students. But later expanded it to colleges in the Boston area.

Six days after the site launch, three Harvard seniors-1.Cameron Winklevoss,2. Tyler Winklevoss, and 3.Divya Narendra—accused Zuckerberg of intentionally misleading them into believing he would help them to build a social network called HarvardConnection.com. They also claimed that he was instead using their ideas to build a competing product. they later filled a lawsuit against zuckerberg . For 1.2 million shares worth $300 .

In mid 2004 entreprenuer Sean parker an informal advisor to Zuckerberg became the companies president. In june 2004, he moved its operarion base to Palo Alto, California. in 2005 the company droped ‘the from it’s name after purchasing the domain name facebook.com for $200.

In may, 2005 . Accel partners invested 12.5 million and also JimBreyer invested $1 million of his money.

Facebook Inc. started selling stock to the public and trading on the NASDAQ on May 18, 2012. The company applied for a $5 billion IPO, one of the biggest offerings in the history of technology. The IPO raised $16 billion, making it the third-largest in U.S. history.From May 22 to 31 May , 2012. a complicated situation took place. On May 22, 2012, the Yahoo! Finance website reported that Facebook's lead underwriters, MorganStanley (MS), JP Morgan (JPM), and Goldman Sach (GS), cut their earnings forecasts for the company in the middle of the IPO process.The stock had begun its freefall by this time, closing at 34.03 on May 21 and 31.00 on May 22. A "circuit breaker” was used in an attempt to slow down the stock price's decline.Zuckerberg announced to the media at the start of October 2012 that Facebook had passed the monthly active users mark of one billion Facebook defines active users as a logged-in member who visits the site

On April 15, 2013, Facebook announced an alliance across 19 states with the National Association of Attorneys General, to provide teenagers and parents with information on tools to manage social networking profiles.On April 19, 2013, Facebook officially modified its logo to remove the faint blue line at the bottom of the "F" icon. a market research on global digital advertising,

Facebook accounts for more than 6% of worldwide

their mobile business. Facebook continues to grow

• In my conclusion part I will be discussing some more information about Facebook. in the calandarial year 2015 Facebook become fastest company in the “standard and 500 index”

• To reach a market capital 250 billion. if we look at the popularity of Facebook we can see that it currently has 900 and 1 million active viewers worldwide. Facebook has forever changed the way people share the media content with their friends.
