This is how Cliff Viljoen, a SomersetWest local and previous pro-rollerbladerspends a typical afternoon at the SomersetWest skate park in Lourensford Road.

The park, that has been in existence formore than five years, is now centre stageto the revival of rollerblading.

Viljoen says this sport, that was a big hitin the nineties but faded into obscurity, isnow experiencing a massive amount of in-terest and is rapidly gaining momentum.

This trend is spreading like wild firethroughSouthAfrica,butaccordingtoVil-joen, the Somerset West skate park is thebest park in the country, not just for roller-blading, but also for skateboarding andBMXs. Viljoen says the sport attracts peo-ple of all kinds, including working adultsfrom diverse backgrounds as well as kids.

The summer edition of KAMERS is set to openatWebersburg inStellenboschon4Novemberand will run until 9 November.

KAMERS celebrated ten years of successfulexhibitions in Cape Town and Pretoria in 2012and not only added a third exhibition (inBloemfontein), but also launched the KA-MERS Online Store.

This year’s summer edition of KAMERS of-fers visitors handcrafted design, fabuloustastes,uniquemusiciansandsomeof themostpopular traders from previous years - a truefusion of proudly South African talent.

KAMERS met Kuns aims to present the KA-MERS audience with a creative, rich and

unique cultural experience, adding fine art tothe established design and craft products.

The art exhibition is inspired by ruralSouth African landscapes, small town charmand urban views, all attempting to cross thebridgebetweentraditionalandcontemporarylandscape art.
