Whatever sur face you're r id ing on, the engine
o f t he F800 GSis a lways completely a thome.
On paved roads, i t is ref ined and responsive,
making itsuited to long days inthe saddle.
Off-road, the liquid-cooled 85-horsepower
(63-kilowatt) parallel twin is lively yet extremely
control lable. I tcan produce upto 61 f t- Ib
(83 newton-meter) of torque from its 798-cc
capacity.
The technological underpinnings ofthe
F 800 GS areextremely sophisticated.
Four rockerarm-actuated valves percylinder,
a double overhead camshaft, and balancing
rods to counter vibrations ensure that itwill
satisfy even the most demanding riders.
The sturdy chain drive isideal for the r igours
of off-road riding, transmitting the power of
the engine direct tothe rearwheel. Infact ,
there 's only one thing that the F800 GS
doesn't taketo the max,andthat's fuel con-
sumption.
