Submitted by Elsie Quintero REMINDER For those of you who are Florida residents, mark your calendar! Primary elections are scheduled for August 18th with early voting August 8th to the 15th. Why be concerned? There are several decision-making positions which can affect the quality of life here. Of special note are US House of Representatives, Florida Senate and House, Sheriff, and County Commissioners. Other offices include tax collector, circuit court judge, school board, and positions on hospital, soil and water, and mosquito control districts. In some instances, winning the primary amounts to election to that office. Check out the background and qualifications of each of the candidates to be able to make wise and informed choices. Consider carefully as each vote is important. This is all preliminary to the contest with even greater and wider influence -- that's the big election on November 3, 2020.

From the Manager’s Office August 2020 Hello Residents! CONCERNS/ISSUES – Please note that if you wish to file a complaint or bring an issue to the office’s attention, it is to be done in writing. We are receiving a lot of anonymous phone calls. The messages that are left are asking us to look into items of concern to them. Without anything in writing there is no one to get back to regarding any of the information left. We are also limited in what can be done as this information is now considered hearsay. Please put any comments, concerns, issues in writing to the office. We have a specific Comment Form or you may email to any office staff. If you are still confused, please contact the office. SIGNAGE – Please remember that you are not permitted to place any signs in your yard or windows without approval. This includes any political signs. You may place 1 For Sale sign inside a window without office permission. HURRICANE SEASON – As a reminder it is currently hurricane season. Please make sure to stock up on hurricane supplies. Also keep in mind if a hurricane is headed this way, you will need to remove any outdoor items so that they do not become projectiles during a hurricane or heavy windstorm. TREE TRIMMING – As a reminder it is the homeowner’s responsibility to trim any/all trees on their lot. Please keep this in mind and budget accordingly for any trees that may need trimmed on your lot. We value you! Thank you for choosing Heron Cay as your place to call home. We thank you for being our residents!

The chart below reflects the monthly Consumer Price Index (CPI) for our area. This figure is used to recalculate rents on each of our anniversary dates. The CPI number, four full months prior to the anniversary date determines if our rent will go up or remain the same. If the CPI goes up on that month our rents increase by that amount, if the CPI stays the same as the year before or goes down, our rents remain the same for the coming year. I will publish this chart each month so we can verify accuracy in our rental charges..
