cent o seniors would rather stayin their own homes, rather thanmove into a nursing home. Some
seniors need the intensive care
a nursing home provides, butmany more can and do thrive intheir own homes or longer thanmight be expected, even whenaced with health and cognitivechallenges.
In act, studies show that se-

It also changed how he lookedat the tness business. Most o the people that I

Many people harbor strong opin-ions with regard to which type oChristmas tree they want to pur-chase. Some cannot live without anatural, reshly-cut Christmas tree, while others preer the convenienceo articial trees. Tose who insiston a natural tree might want to con-sider the ollowing tips when buyingwhats likely their biggest decorative
item o the holiday season.
* Ask when the tree was cut down.Precut trees may be cut down weeksbeore theyre sold. So i youre buy-
ing a precut tree, chances are thetree was cut down much earlier than
you think. Tis doesnt mean the treewont make it through the holidayseason, but a tree that was cut sev-eral weeks ago should have some oits bottom trunk removed beore itsplaced in the stand. Tis will make iteasier or the tree to consume water.Tis step likely isnt necessary i the
tree was cut down the same day youbring it home.
* Have the tree shaken beore takingit home. A tree should be shaken in
a shaker beore you put it in your carand bring it home. A shaker removesany debris or dead needles rom thetree, which can save you the trou-ble o cleaning up all o those deadneedles rom your living room oorlater on.
* Have the tree wrapped beore tak-ing it home. A tree should also bewrapped in twine beore taking ithome. Te twine should be tightenough to keep the trees branchesrom blowing in the wind when youattach the tree to the top o your
vehicle. I possible, keep the treewrapped in twine as you place it inthe stand. Tis makes the tree easierto control.
* Choose the right location. Whenlooking or the right place to set upyour natural tree, its best to choosea spot thats cool and ree o drats.Te tree should not be placed nearheat sources, including appliances, replaces or vents, because such

ARIES (March 21 to April 19) Startpreparing now to make sure you getthe credit youre due for all that effortyou put in to get that project off theground. A new challenge emergesafter the 15th.
TAURUS (April 20 to May 20)Youre still charging full steam aheadon the job and thats fine. But taketime to share the joy of preparing forthe upcoming holidays with folks youlove.
GEMINI (May 21 to June 20) A for-mer detractor resists joining your ranksjust yet. Give him or her time to learnmore about what youre doing. Mean-while, devote more time to friends andfamily.
CANCER (June 21 to July 22) Becareful not to be goaded into a tiff by
someone who might be looking for afight. Remain cool as you make yourexit. Be assured that others will rally toyour support.
LEO (July 23 to August 22) Kudoson getting the well-deserved Lionsshare of the rewards for a job well-done. Now you can take a breatherfrom your workaday duties and spendtime with your family.
VIRGO (August 23 to September22) You enjoy a quick spurt of renewedenergy just in time to meet that upcom-ing deadline. A potentially romanticsituation looms. How it develops will
be up to you.LIBRA (September 23 to October
22) Watch out for distractions thatcould cause delays and leave you run-ning twice as fast to finish your workby the 15th. Then go ahead and havefun.
SCORPIO (October 23 to Novem-ber 21) You might prefer to work oncurrent tasks on your own. But be opento a potentially useful suggestion fromsomeone who admires you and wantsto help.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 toDecember 21) Avoid rushing full gal-lop into that volunteer project withoutknowing whats expected of you. Takethings a step at a time as you begin tofind your way.
CAPRICORN (December 22 to Jan-uary 19) Good news: You should beginto feel more comfortable expressingyour emotions. This will go a long wayin helping you with that personal situ-ation.
AQUARIUS (January 20 to Febru-ary 18) An old friend gives confusing
signals. Best advice: Dont assumethat things will necessarily work them-selves out. Ask questions and demandstraight answers.
PISCES (February 19 to March20) A new relationship needs timeto develop. Be careful not to let youremotions flood your natural sense ofcaution. Meanwhile, check out thatnew job offer.
BORN THIS WEEK: Your sense ofright and wrong sometimes causes youto come into conflict with others. Butyou invariably come out ahead.
