Behavior: Blurting out questions and answering during whole class instruction, resulting in distractions for Tray and other students.
Function: Positive Reinforcement: Tray gains teacher attention by blurting out in class.
Teacher redirects him, or tells him to not blurt out.

Not negative: Tray does not blurt out to avoid doing work, or escape a classroom task.
Not sensory: Tray does not increase or decrease the level of sensory stimulation by blurting out in the classroom.
