    Headteacher’s update

    Dear parents/carers,

To celebrate the start of spring, we explored the life of St David in our whole

school assembly and looked at how we can follow his example. We discussed the

importance of this half term’s Virtues and Values and looked at the ways in

which, like St David, we can be ‘attentive’ to God’s word and ‘discerning’ in our

    actions.

One of the areas that we have been working to further develop in school this

year is the increased involvement of the children in the leadership of Catholic life

    and collective worship.

As part of this, our newly-formed chaplaincy team had the opportunity to meet

and work alongside fellow chaplaincy team members from Catholic schools

across Worcestershire at a training session on Monday. They generated many

super ideas during the session and we are looking forward to seeing them lead a

range of events and activities to further highlight the Catholic life of our school.

We also welcomed Sam Downes, lay chaplain, to come and lead the Stations of

the Cross with our Year 4 children on Wednesday afternoon. Following this, we

have set Year 4 the challenge of leading the Stations of the Cross for the rest of

the school in the lead up to Holy Week.

We are all very excited about our whole school science week taking place next

week. We have lots of fun events planned throughout the week including a

science themed ‘dress up’ day on Monday, a visit from ‘Mad Science’ on

Tuesday, STEM challenge day on Wednesday and a range of science investiga-

tions and experiments on Thursday and Friday. Keep an eye out for the photos!

Congratulations to our Year 4 football team who played extremely well and got

all the way through to the semi finals today, and to our netball team who are

    representing the school this weekend.

    Enjoy your weekend!
