• The Youth Justice Program will... directly contribute to achieving the targets set to reduce homelessness, specifically for Youth involved in the Justice System.
Integrated Housing Exits – Youth Justice Program
• 20 x 2 bedroom residential properties
• Young people at risk of/are homeless, aged 16 + and exiting detention (post sentence or remand)
– Port Augusta: or on a community based justice order
• Support Provider tendered in March 2010 – won by SYC
• Program formally commenced 1 July 2010 (currently contracted until 30 June 2013 in line with the NAHA and NPAH)
• Strong partnership framework

• 24 young people housed (since June 2010)
• 19 properties available: 16 clients currently housed; 3 preparing to move in
• 46% (11) connected with education or employment
Is it working?
• 10 have exited the program:– 4 moved in with family/friends– 2 private rental– 4 re-entered custody
• 75% not charged with fresh offence(s)– 4 on remand/custodial sentence– 1 on Home Detention Bail in IYH- YJ property– 1 received community based sentence (CSO)
