W h a t i s th e EY As s ur a n c e S c h ol a r s h i p ?The EY Assurance Scholarship is a programme of financial support combined with paid work experience for students studying an Accounting & Finance undergraduate degree.

We need bright curious minds people who are ready to contribute to a globally growing business with strong ambition and purpose, and who have what it takes to work on critical issues for our clients.

W h o i s e l i g i bl e to a p p l y f or th e EY As s ur a n c e S c h ol a r s h i p ?Students who have started at one of our partner Universities and are studying Sc Accounting & Finance full time. To be eligible to apply for the EY Assurance Scholarship you must be a UK or EU national.

► The EY Assurance Scholarship combines University study, paid work experience, study towards your professional qualification and a 15,000 scholarship payment. So you experience the benefits of both University and the world of work before you graduate On top of that, there is the potential of a permanent ob when you graduate.

► The EY School Leaver programme is an award winning structured five year programme where you have the chance to gain your professional qualification a year earlier than if you went to University, you ll be free of student debt and have practical experience from your first day.

H ow m uc h i s th e S c h ol a r s h i p w or th ?EY Assurance Scholars will receive 5,000 for each year of study ( 15,000 in total). A Scholarship will not be paid during the ndustrial Placement year since Scholars will be in receipt of a salary.

Is there any additional financial support a v a i l a bl e ?We will be offering up to three additional awards at each University per annum worth 1,000 each on a means tested basis to UK students. We will contact eligible students who successfully secure a place on the EY Assurance Scholarship.

W h e n w i l l S c h ol a r s h i p p a y m e n ts be m a d e ?Scholarship payments will be administered by the University and payment schedules will vary. All Scholarship payments will be made in instalments throughout the academic year.

Ar e th e r e a n y r e s tr i c ti on s on w h a t I c a n s p e n d th e S c h ol a r s h i p on ?The EY Assurance Scholarship has been set up to assist students with the costs associated with attending University. There are no restrictions on how EY Assurance Scholars spend their scholarship.

W h a t w or k e x p e r i e n c e w i l l I r e c e i v e un d e r th e EY As s ur a n c e S c h ol a r s h i p ?EY Assurance Scholars will complete two work experience placements. The first placement will last four weeks and will take place during the summer between Year one and Year two. The second placement will last 12 months and will start during the summer after the end of Year two.

Ar e w or k e x p e r i e n c e p l a c e m e n ts p a i d ?Yes. You will receive a competitive salary for your work experience placements. You are also entitled to annual leave during your placement this will be calculated based on the length of your placement.

H ow m uc h w i l l I be p a i d on p l a c e m e n t?Salaries vary by location. We will let you know your salary once your placement location has been confirmed.

W h a t l oc a ti on op ti on s w i l l be a v a i l a bl e to m e w h e n I a p p l y ?We have offices across the UK. Placements will be available across a wide range of office locations.

Can I choose which office location I will be p l a c e d i n ?We will ask you for your location preferences as part of the application process. Whilst we will make every effort to match you to one of your location preferences we cannot guarantee that you will receive one of your preferences.

The final decision on placement location will be made by EY.

o. The EY Assurance Scholarship is sponsored by our Assurance practice. The programme has been set up to support the growth of our Assurance practice, therefore the placements offered will be in Assurance only.

W i l l I be r e q ui r e d to s i t a n y p r of e s s i on a l e x a m s d ur i n g m y p l a c e m e n t y e a r ?Depending on the modules you have studied at University you may sit some of the CAS or CAEW exams during your placement year. This will be discussed with you ahead of your placement year.

W i l l m y p l a c e m e n t y e a r c oun t tow a r d s my professional qualification (ICAS or I C AEW ) ?When you oin EY on your placement year you will be entered into an CAS or CAEW training contract. The work experience you gain on your placement year will count towards the work experience requirements of these institutes. This means you will qualify faster than a graduate who oins the Graduate programme who hasn t completed a placement year.

C a n I c h oos e w h i c h p r of e s s i on a l qualification I study towards?

o. oth CAS and CAEW are equivalent qualifications. The qualification you study will be dictated by the office location that you oin.

W i l l I r e c e i v e a f ul l - ti m e of f e r a t th e e n d of m y p l a c e m e n t y e a r ?f you perform well on your placement year it is very likely you will be made a full time offer to oin our Graduate programme. This offer will be conditional on you securing a 2 1 or above in your degree.

W h a t a r e th e a d v a n ta g e s of c om p l e ti n g w or k e x p e r i e n c e un d e r th e EY As s ur a n c e S c h ol a r s h i p ?You will have the opportunity to put academic theory into practice, gaining first hand experience working on real client engagements.

Your placement year will be very similar to the first year of our Assurance Graduate programme and you will gain invaluable technical and transferrable skills through formal training and on the ob learning.

Sub ect to satisfactory performance on your placement year, your time will be recognised and should you return to the firm as a Graduate you will oin as a second year associate.

C a n I w or k ov e r s e a s w h e n on th e s c h e m e ?All of the work placements completed during the EY Assurance Scholarship will be based in the UK. From time to time there may be overseas travel depending on the client pro ects you are allocated to but this is not a formal part of the scholarship.

The application process will start in your first semester at University. We will provide more information about the application process and deadline once you have started at University.

D o I n e e d to s ubm i t a C V a n d c ov e r i n g l e tte r ?

o. Our application system gives the option of uploading a C and covering letter by default but this is not necessary.

W h a t w i l l h a p p e n a f te r I h a v e c om p l e te d m y a p p l i c a ti on ?There are two stages to submitting an application. The first involves completing our online application form and the second involves completing four assessments via our Strengths Portal.

Once you have submitted your application, you will receive a link by email to our Strengths Portal where you will be asked to complete four assessments.

n order for your application to be screened you must complete the online application form and the assessments via our Strengths Portal.

W h e n w i l l I r e c e i v e a n outc om e on m y a p p l i c a ti on ?We will notify you of the outcome of your application after the application closing date. f your application is successful, the next stages in the process are an interview and assessment centre.
