SPACE_CAVE FINAL FRONTIER Inside the Unknown Space season. “The expression has become synonymous with the period between the time scientists, and experimental captalist bring foward the new idea of space travel. Year after year the question is brought fourth, ”is space colonization possible, and if so who and where, and how is it going to be concieved.” A new dawn as reason, with the interesting possiblity, of reverting back to the way societies evolved, the primitive cave is now the way scientists have began to analyze the ideals of what shelter really is, and what it really means to be in the extreme brutal conditions of what is quite possibly is the unknown. The intention of the project is to view the new horizon of space exploration as a new step in human evolution. We have to go into space looking for a shelter to support our terrestrial human life. The original cave was crucial to our development in its ability to shield us from the elements. The design of the new space cave is to link the ideal of that habitation with the current best technologies we have which aid our state o f living. Notably, the work of Norman Foster, along with Arup, exemplifies the creation of ideal smart living environments, shown in the Florence High Speed Train Station. Through the understaning gained the potential of growth from the space cave to the primitive hut and so on, will continue its evolution on the journey through our cosmos, into the unkown searching for alternative ways of living and developing the means and technologies of really what it means to colonize the unkown.

SPACE_CAVE FINAL FRONTIER

During the start of evolution in societieson earth the cave served as a shelter from the extreme conditions on earth.Inside the cave, oered protection againstextreme winds for purposes of heat and starting res. The naturalistic side of the caveis the idea of formation, created by naturalows of water that begins to carve over a long period of time into the earth, slowdeposition of dissolved limestone createsturving viguals. When static might meetsstatic height, a column is created. A caveis cut o from the outside world, created a new idea of unknown areas that beginto biforcate and create an enitre systeminto earth. The cave is a natural undergroundvoid large enough for a human to enter.Caves are complex evoloving systems.

Caves are the worlds nal frontier inside Earth

3 types of Caves

-Endogean_ The parts of caves that are in communication with surface soils, cracks and rock seams.

-Parahypogean_The threshold regions near a caves mouth extends to the last penetration of sunlight.

-Hypogean_ True cave environments. These can be regularcontact with the surface viea wind and underground rivers.

Norman Fosters Florence High SpeedTrain Staion is an example on Earth on our capabilities and our latest stageof human evolution in the context of thebuilt environment and what technologiesthat our emplimented. The task, to analayze and componitrize the existing structure, so we can further evolove whatNorman Foster did in Florence and adaptthat into space as the next sequence inour evolution as a species. The structurehas a huge glass roof supported by a lightsteel structure. It measures over 45,000 squareand will empose train galleries that are themasterpieces of the nineteenth century era.The project employs solutions for reducingenergy consumption and pollutants emissions, and uses renewable resources. The roof willalso have a multilayer system in which eachcomponent plays a dierent role: A seriesof diaphragms of variable structure guarantees environmental and acousticconrtol, ans well as air exchange, emissionscontrol and natural lighting. Platforms willbe 25 meters below ground, while ticket oces, travel agencies, shops, and restaurantswill occupy the ground oor. A series of routesmarked by dierent graduations of natural light and articial light will guide traverlers from one level to another through esculatorsand moving sidewalks. The station chamberconsists of single volume, 454 meters and 52meters wide, built using cut and cover techniques.Passangers move from the platform to groundlevel via lifts and esculators. Between the platformlevel and the street are two levels of shops.
