THE EXTRAORDINARY LIFE//10 WEEK BIBLE READING PLAN An Introduction. Have you ever wondered “Is there more to life than this?” Typical...common…ordinary. These are words that describe “average” but they were never meant to describe your life. As a Christ follower, there’s an extraordinary life waiting for you! You’re a part of His team, for His purpose. Now it’s time to walk in it. And that’s exactly what we intend to do. Take a journey with us this summer to unlock the promises of the EXTRAordinary life we have in Christ. The Plan. We’re going to take 10 weeks to read through the book of Ephesians, together as a Church. It’s a crucial part of God’s word for us to understand. This letter from the apostle Paul speaks to three areas: An EXTRAordinary God, Our EXTRAordinary Life, and The EXTRAordinary Church. Our reading plan will be broken into two parts, and will center around Team Church Conference 2010. The Blog. We’ve created a fantastic resource that will equip you on your journey. Pastor Kevin is hosting the “Living the EXTRAordinary” Blog on his personal blog site. journal and pen. That’s it! • Take time weekly to read the verses on our WEEKLY reading plan. • Take time daily to re-read the ON-POINT verses. Consider memorizing them. • Read in a setting that is comfortable to you. As you read, ask God to speak to your heart. Write down your thoughts, and

consider underlining verses in your Bible that stand out to you. • Take time daily for prayer. Talk to God, and allow Him to talk to you.

PART ONE – 40 DAYS TO THE EXTRAORDINARY Week ONE: An EXTRAordinary Plan Sunday, June 27th – Saturday, July 3rd

Weekly Reading: Ephesians 1:1-14

ON-POINT Verses: Verses 1:4-6 – “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.”

Week TWO: An EXTRAordinary Church Sunday, July 4th – Saturday, July 10th

Weekly Reading: Ephesians 1:15-23

ON-POINT Verses: Verses 1:22-23 – “He is in charge of it all, has the final word on everything. At the center of all this, Christ rules the church. The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church. The church is Christ's body, in which he speaks and acts, by which he fills everything with his presence.”

Weekly Reading: Ephesians 2:1-10

Verses 2:6-10 – “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Weekly Reading: Ephesians 3:14-21

ON-POINT Verses: Verses 3:20-21 MESSAGE - “God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.”

Weekly Reading: Ephesians 4:1-16

Verses 4:1-3 MESSAGE – “In light of all this, here's what I want you to do. While I'm locked up here, a prisoner for the Master, I want you to get out there and walk—better yet, run!—on the road God called you to travel. I don't want any of you sitting around on your hands. I don't want anyone strolling off, down some path that goes nowhere. And mark that you do this with humility and discipline—not in fits and starts, but steadily, pouring yourselves out for each other in acts of love, alert at noticing differences and quick at mending fences.”

Weekly Reading: Ephesians 5:1-20

Verses 5:1-2 MESSAGE – “Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn't love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that.”

Verses 6:11-17 – “Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
