More inside!

Last couple of months have been super busy and also extremely

successful for coaches Ron Derrick and Alex Bundalo. They have

managed to win several cups and the players played their hearts out

in every single game. Congratulations to all the parents,

kids and the coaches for this ongoing success.

Great Achievements by Apollo U9s!

U9s af ter winn ing Loganholme FC Cup!

Many things have been happening inside

Apollo recently. Under-12 boys are still

undefeated and ready to win the title. Under-9

boys have been a nightmare for other teams.

First and Reserve teams are still on the top of

their leagues and seems like will be there till

the end of the season. David Benigno is

sacrificing his long long hair for a great cause!

Lets start with D. Benigno’s Sacrifice.

1

Brave David will be supporting a cause and shaving his long hair. Don’t miss out on this occasion, it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Bring your friends and family, support David, and support Apollo!

When? August 10, 2013

What? Shave for a cure and Apollo vs Magic.

Where? Apollo Club House

Lex Bell Oval, Isle of Capri, Surfers Paradise

Apollo versus Magic On the same day that David gets a hair

cut, Apollo will be challenged by a strong Magic side. This game might

decide the champion. If our first team wins they are going to be in a super confortable position and

wait till the end of the season to lift the cup!

So what you need to do is simple. Just come down to support!!!

A new partnership with Viva Soccer Viva Soccer are a not for profit organization. They

are determined to get the kids love the game and learn

through fun games. We have been very happy with

the effort that Team Viva puts in.

They have got a very professional system in place and

we are happy to get our kids to learn from the best in

the industry.

Hopefully, Viva Soccer will develop young talents to

go in to the national team one day!

Junior Football Junior football is increasing the quality day by day.

U8s were runner-ups in Nerang football carnival.

U9s were winners in the same Nerang football

Junior Football Carnival! For your enjoyment here are the results and some pictures from U/8-U/9 and U/10-U/11 carnivals.

Winners Under 8 Palm Beach Runners Up Under 8 Robina Winners Under 9 Magic TFA Runners Up Under 9 SPASC

Under-10 Winners Magic TFA Under-10 Runners Up Brisbane Olympic What an exceptional game! It continued into extra time, where the final score was 1 - 0. Two evenly paired teams who produced an excellent final match. --------------------------------------------------------- Under-11 Winners Redlands Under 11 Runners Up Merrimac Just a note that this was a brilliant match as well. Both teams had extremely skilful soccer players. Golden goal was played and still the game remained scoreless. In the end both teams agreed to a penalty shoot out otherwise it would've gone on and on. Well done to both teams, were obviously very evenly matched.

Women’s Football

Women’s’ Division 2

Great season for all the girls so far. They have been working hard to improve their game and learn to be a great team. Coach Jasmine is taking special care of her players at all times. She keeps a close eye on the players and mentoring them off the field as well as on field. The girls just completed a great carnival on Sunday 4th of August at the Apollo fields. You may find more information on that in the next page. You may find Women’s Division 2 fixture below;

Coach of the Month

BLAKE ADAMS Date of Birth: 18/11/1994

Place of birth: Brisbane/Australia Favourite Team: Southampton FC Favourite player: Lionel Messi Favourite formation: 4-3-3 Preferred foot: Right Preferred position: Coach Strengths on field: Making the team look good. Weaknesses on field: Communication Blake in one word: Hungry!

Here is what Blake said after a wonderful effort by his players “Tonight, My u12s were lucky enough to play The Hills Grammar School as a part of their Sports Tour of Queensland. We were victorious 7-2 in the end but it wasn't the score line that made me proud, it was the effort my lads put in win. Also the experience they took from it is one they'll remember forever. They had fun and at the end of the day, that's the most important thing. Cheers boys”

Player of the Month

Full name: Tahlia Grace Steer Date of birth: 22/1/2000 Preferred foot: right Birthplace: Redcliffe hospital Favourite team: Manchester United Favourite position: Wingback Favourite Player: Jasmine my coach Favourite drink: Fanta Favourite food: Subway and chocolate can't chose! Strengths on field: I can boot the ball up the side of the field for a midfield or striker to take from there to the goals and I can mark closely to the opposition and make they don't get the ball, (most of the time anyway aha) Weaknesses on field: My left foot isn't as strong as my right so sometimes it fails me and it will go straight to the opposition or it will just be a bad kick that won't get far.
