A SEA OF EMOTION will be on display this weekend as the Penrith Panthers farewell a number of the club’s most

decorated legends when they do battle with the Gold Coast Titans on Saturday afternoon.

Not since the departures of former Panthers greats like Greg Alexander, Steve Carter, John Cartwright and Craig Gower will Centrebet Stadium see so much fanfare and emotion like it will on Saturday.Penrith will need to show the world their hearts and utilise the swirling emotion to their potential if they are going to stop the Gold Coast Titans’ impressive late season run.

One star determined to bounce back from his week off, due to suspension, is Panthers speedster Michael Jennings. Jenko said he was eager to get back onto the park and put

on a great performance for the nal home game of the year. “Our season is nishing up and all we can do now is play our game and stay focused on what we’ve got to do to build for next year,” he said.“I think our main priority is to upset the Titans’ run to the nals but we must do everything right and have a positive attitude going into the game.”And if the Panthers are going to ruin the Titans’ top eight chances on Saturday then they are going to have to be at their absolute best.

THE UGLY WINGold Coast currently sits in 10th position,

two points out of the eight – they lose this week and they can say “goodnight and sweet dreams” to a 2012 finals appearance.

Last week the Panthers managed to take

the two points home from New Zealand in what can only be regarded as an ugly win, but at this stage of the season I’m sure the players will take a win of any form.

The Panthers played well in parts against the Warriors but 14 handling errors and a number of crucial penalties conceded could have very well cost them the game. Fortunately the Warriors were worse across all statistics.

Some player highlights out of last Sunday’s game was seeing Lachlan Coote’s progression in the number six. Each week you can tell he’s becoming more and more con dent and his running game is up there with some of the best halves in the competition.

Another positive to come out of the game

was rookie Adam Docker’srst ever Panthers appearance. The Windsor Wolves player made a decent 56 metres off the bench, that was more than Nigel Plum (53 metres) made in less minutes.

Fill-in Penrith winger Travis Robinson also had his best game in Panthers colours, scoring the match winner in the dying minutes. It’s a shame fans may not get to see Robinson this week (18th man) with Brad Tighe returning to the side following illness.

Fans should remember that this weekend’s game will take place on Saturday afternoon at 3.30pm. This will be therst Saturday afternoon game at Centrebet Stadium in more than a decade. Extra text space extra text space extra text space extra text space.

NOT SINCE THE DEPARTURES of former Panthers greats like Greg Alexander, Steve Carter, John

Cartwright and Craig Gower will Centrebet Stadium see so much fanfare and emotion like it will on Saturday.Penrith will need to show the world their hearts and utilise the swirling emotion to their potential if they are going to stop the Gold Coast Titans’ impressive late season run.

One star determined to bounce back from his week off, due to suspension, is Panthers speedster Michael Jennings. Jenko said he was eager to get back onto the park and put on a great performance for the nal home game of the year.

Gold Coast currently sits in 10th position, two points out of the eight – they lose this week and they can say “goodnight and sweet dreams” to a 2012 finals appearance.

Last week the Panthers managed to take the two points home from New Zealand in what can only be regarded as an ugly win,

but at this stage of the season I’m sure the players will take a win of any form.

The Panthers played well in parts against the Warriors but 14 handling errors and a number of crucial penalties conceded could have very well cost them the game. Fortunately the Warriors were worse across all statistics.
