• Also known as guidance. The technique means the presentation of facts of a lesson in a definite, logical manner and clear, understandable and simplified way , that all the pupil’s may learn the most difficult things very easily.

• It is used in the teaching of all the subjects but it is more beneficial in language teaching.

• The teacher should present the lesson before the pupils after determining the objectives of the lesson.

• To make the Exposition effective, the entire lesson should be divided into clear and natural units. The first unit should be made clear to the pupils and then next.

• The teacher should try to maintain the interest of the pupils.

• Speed of exposition should be according to their intelligence and their power of understanding. A fast-talk by the teacher obstructs the understanding of the pupils.

• Exposition should be clear and definite.

• Only those main things should be stressed specifically which are directly related to the lesson. It can be written on black board for clarification if it is considered necessary.

• Interesting and understandable, examples, illustrations, pictures and devices should be used frequently.

• The teacher should use all the techniques like narration, description, explanation etc. and as the need arises, he should allow the pupils to ask the questions. Not only this, when the exposition is over, the teacher will have to inquire by questioning the limit upto which the explanation succeeded.
