Location Tuscany, Val d’Orcia. The estate Lancimbaldo is situated on an eminence,
in the heart of the most attractive area of Val d’Orcia, the famous and
singular UNESCO nature reserve based in the southern part of Siena. The
mansion, in spectacular hilly position, located along to the famous Pilgrim
Way Francigena, is only 4 km from the historic centre of Castiglione
d’Orcia. The access to the property from the main road is through about 430
m of gravel road in good condition.
The elevated position offers an amazing 360° view all over the extraordinary
landscape: the breathtaking, soft hillside and the waste fields which change
their colors at every season. Furthermore one can barely see the scenery of
the picturesque towns Castiglione d’Orcia and Pienza and the imposing
Monte Amiata, the highest defuse volcano of Italy.
Still today Castiglione d’Orcia appears like an untouched jewel of Tuscan
Middle Age, with its fortress which overlooks the whole territory.
Pienza, the birthplace of Pope Pius II and in 1996 declared a UNESCO
World Heritage Site, is a rare example of Renaissance town design and
famous for its richness of particular specialties. The estate is ideally located
and very well linked to the most important city centres of Val d’Orcia which
can be reached within a few minutes by car: for example Pienza (approx. 20
km), Montepulciano (approx. 27 km), Montalcino (approx. 20 km).
Furthermore the property is next to some exclusive, internationally well-
known thermal spa centres like Bagno Vignoni (approx. 4 km), Bagni San
Filippo (approx. 20 km) e Chianciano Terme (approx. 27 km).
In the course of the centuries, thanks to its proximity to the Francigena Way,

The nearest airports are Siena (at 55 km), Perugia (at 113 km), Florence (at
152 km), Pisa (at 214 km), Rome (at 200 km). In about five minutes by car
you can reach the nearest local town with all amenities: restaurants,
supermarkets, bank, post office, shops and pharmacy.
Description The country house has been carefully reconstructed and brought back to its
ancient splendor preserving the typical characteristics of local tradition and
architecture and retaining many original features.
The magnificent hilltop estate enjoys timeless, fabulous views over
unspoiled Tuscan countryside. The natural surroundings and the panoramic
view on Castiglione d’ Orcia and a large part of the nature reserve enrich the
property with charming details creating around it a kind of an imaginary
amphitheatre.
The property is set on approximately 2 hectares of land. A piece of this
ground could also be used for the cultivation of olive trees. It would be
