of change, challenge and possibility.

Learn skills and techniques as a Pastoral Care provider to assist you in delving deeply into the meaning of personal care. Discover additional tools for deep listening,

The Soul’s CodeThomas Moore’s mentor, James Hillman, wrote the bestseller The Soul’s Code. In this landmark book, he proposes that our life-calling and basic character is inborn and archetypal. Our central mission in life is to realize those instinctive archetypal imperatives, sometimes called “living your

own myth.” Hillman called this process the “acorn theory”—the idea that our lives are formed by a particular image unique to each of us, just as the oak’s destiny is contained

in the tiny acorn. Learn more about Hillman and your own myth in this course with Michael Bogar.

Your Wishes: A Living Will with Heart and SoulWhen tragedy strikes or the end of life is near, it seems no one is ever prepared. Still, we will help in that preparation by providing you with planning tools and conversations that ensure your wishes are followed and respected at this critical time.

This class uses Trudy James’s film Speaking of Dying, and the 5 Wishes Living Will, a legal Advance Healthcare Directive document in Washington State, to help you express your wishes in areas that matter most: the personal and spiritual, in addition to the medical and legal wishes that you want observed. We will help you identify and describe what good care means to you, whether you are seriously ill or not, allowing your caregiver, family members, and medical staff to know exactly what you want; and for your loved

ones to speak clearly and confidently for you, if or when you are not able.

Class topics include: Selecting your Healthcare Agent, End of Life Care Options, Grief and Bereavement, Disposition Decisions, Burial Options, Your Legal Legacy, Service Planning and more.

Discovering the Light within the DarknessLife is filled with times of joy and sadness. Often, we think that there is only pain in our darkest experiences. We may limit the way we express ourselves, due to feelings of shame and embarrassment. In this class we will set ourselves free by finding the Light in our darkest moments.

At CSL we teach that the Divine is omnipresent, existing in everything—together we will uncover it!

Rev. Harold walks with you in discovering the Light within everything, even in what seems to be our darkest times.

Once we see the Light, we move forward with Ease and Grace, instantly propelling a light-filled life.

A Christmas Carol: The Archetypes of Past, Present, and Future in a Soul-making Life

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, an old miser who is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the Spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Future. In Dickens’s view, “Time” is not conceptual, but a living archetypal

presence with three faces—each working to sculpt a unique soul through the images and emotions that haunt our Pasts, Present, and Futures. Uncover the soul that your past, present and future are forging in this class with Michael Bogar.
