All roles require post-secondary training as well as continuing

education in order to be successful.

Sports medicine professionals rarely ever work independently.

Most work in a team setting. Patient/athlete care is a

collaborative effort.

Success is measured not in games won but the level of performance

each patient/athlete is able to sustain in order to remain active

and healthy.

§ Sports medicine professionals continually learn and relearn the best treatment and prevention practices. § A single profession cannot address all the needs of the patient/athlete. § The collective goal is to ensure that the patient/athlete functions at the highest level possible.
