1 Lockyer Valley Regional Council provides over 60 parks and reserves across the region, covering more than 133 hectares. With diverse locations across the region there are many treasures just waiting to be discovered. Our parks offer a range of facilities to suit numerous leisure and recreational needs. Picnic and barbecue shelters, sporting grounds, natural areas, walking tracks, scenic lookouts and memorials are available for use seven days a week. LIONS PARK (NARDA LAGOON RESERVE) Situated in Laidley, Narda Lagoon and Lions Park is a peaceful, relaxed location that is ideal for your next picnic destination. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

CARING FOR OUR PARKS AND RESERVES.

Lockyer Valley Regional Council takes great pride in our parks and reserves to ensure that our facilities are a safe environment for everyone to enjoy.

Facilities such as playground equipment, BBQs, shelters and picnic areas are free for the public to use on a shared basis and cannot be reserved.

To preserve these environments for all park visitors and future generations to enjoy, we need to work together.

All plants and animals in our parks are protected

Dogs are permitted in certain parks however must remain on a lead, unless otherwise indicated

Driving of vehicles on grassed areas is prohibited

Rubbish should be placed in the bins provided or alternatively taken home

DID YOU KNOW?

No bookings are required for use of Council parks or reserves. However, if you are intending to use inflatable toys such as jumping castles, you are required to provide Council with a Public Liability Insurance Certificate. You can do this by:

Does Council have sporting fields within the Lockyer Valley?

Council has several sporting facilities and fields, which are leased to sporting clubs. For use of the facility please contact the sporting club directly.

Am I able to use gazebos and shade structures within the parks?

Yes, you are able to use gazebos and shade structures within Council parks. However, these structures are not to be pegged into the ground as they need to be weighted down with sandbags and the like.

Can I hold events within Council’s Parks?

Council encourages the community to use the facilities within our parks. You can hold events such as BBQs, birthday parties etc, within our parks, but please keep in mind you are unable to book tables and BBQs and you are unable to use the facilities exclusively.

Can commercial events be held in Council parks?

To activate our green spaces and grow local business, Council supports a range of commercial activities in parks, such as animal training, markets, food stalls and fun runs. Council regulates these commercial activities to ensure public health and safety.

Are dogs allowed within Council parks?

Dogs are allowed to be within Council parks as long as they are under supervision and on a lead at all times or unless signed otherwise.
