Doctoral students are gathered within a cohort among other leaders of the church and the academy. Eligible applicants must be: > students of African, Latino/a, Asian or First Nations descent > enrolled full time in an accredited Ph.D. or Th.D. program in religious, theological or biblical studies > within the first two years of their studies > prepared to be present for the entire gathering APPLICATION DEADLINE: February 15 Doctoral Fellowships FOR STUDENTS PAST THE COURSEWORK STAGE FTE offers the Fellowship for Doctoral Students of African Descent and the Fellowship for Latino/a, Asian and First Nations Doctoral Students. Each fellowship recipient receives an award up to $25,000 and attends FTE’s Christian Leadership Forum. Qualified candidates must be: > students of African, Latino/a, Asian or First Nations descent > enrolled full time in an accredited Ph.D. or Th.D. program in religious, theological or biblical studies > past the coursework stage by the beginning of the awarded fellowship year > in a position to write full time during the fellowship year if applicant is at the dissertation stage * Applicants who are past coursework but not yet at candidacy (ABD) are eligible to apply. * The applicant’s dissertation committee must have approved the dissertation research proposal and writing plan, and given the student full approval to proceed. If you’re a doctoral student of color in religious, theological or biblical studies, the Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE) offers resources to support you in your studies. These opportunities are designed to nurture future scholars of color and foster quality and diversity among theological school faculties.
