Approximate angle of ore

HMI interface

As the drum turns, the angle of the mill and the ore are calculated and depicted by the graphical mill turning

HMI interface

At the same time the angle of the mill drum is plotted against the ore angle

ore angle

HMI interface

• If the ore has not tumbled yet, the mill angle is the same as the ore angle, and

• the graph stays at 45deg

• The mill will trip

• If the ore sticks to the drum, the ore angle does not deviate from the mill angle and

TRIP

• As the ore tumbles, the angle of the ore changes relative to the mill angle

• As the mill drum keeps on turning, the angle keeps changing

• But the ore angle flattens out

A Safe start and no need for the MSS to trip the mill!
