Few words from the Chairman of PTCC Dr. S.N.Misra
The Partnership, now formally registered as a society, brings together over 170 member organisations on a common platform, to support and strengthen India’s efforts to control tuberculosis (TB). The Partnership includes various organisations, all dedicated to the fight against TB with each member organisation bringing specific expertise to the table, in a range of technical and programmatic areas to empower individuals and communities affected by TB. In the years since its inception, the Partnership has been a hub for disseminating information, creating visibility for India’s national TB program, responding to TB related challenges and providing support to various stakeholders. For those of us who have witnessed the growth of the Partnership, the formal registration of the Partnership has been a proud and privilege moment for all of us and we hope the miles ahead of us will be less daunting, as 170+ institutions will now work together for a common cause of eliminating Tuberculosis.
The Partnership for TB Care and Control is proud to announce its registered avatar from June 2013. The hard work of all of its partners in contributing to the Memorandum of Association and Constitution of the society has paid off and a proud moment for all its members as the registration was received by the Governing Body. Kudos to its members with special mention of the Governing Body, the CEO Dr. Darivianca E. Laloo & Ms. Meenu Sharma from Secretariat and the lawyer Mr. Sharad Kumar (CII) who made this happen.
In this edition we focused case studies and success stories on the dread of drug resistant TB and how civil society members have helped MDR-TB patients and the communities.
We share a joint advocacy effort on civil society demanding transparency and uninterrupted supply of TB medicines.
We hope you enjoy reading and look forward to your active contribution in the future.
Happy reading…
