NOMADS
A digital archive for weather and climate models initiated by NCDC, NCEP and GFDL
“NOMADS is a distributed data services pilot for format independent access to climate and weather models and data.”
Glenn K. Rutledge, Jordan Alpert and Wesley Ebuisaki, NOMADS: A Climate and Weather Model Archive at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, BAMS, March 2006

KMA’s approach
One DCPC gateway for one external system Metadata synchronisation Burden on the gateway
Direct or indirect incorporation Data sets vs. Protocol
Manual metadata generation Ownership

Future Plan
Provide GPC Seoul (KMA) data sets using K-WIS Global Producing Centre (GPC) for Long-range
Forecasting Melbourne, Montreal, Beijing, Toulouse, Tokyo,
Washington, Exeter and ECMWF
Experimental V-GISC and DCPCs/NCs in RA II & other RAs More coverage and involvement Capabilities/confidence building Training/Workshops
