We are seeking undergraduate civil and structural engineering students to work in our engineering teams on a range of design projects this summer. We are a small, dynamic company (part of an employee benefit trust) with wellbeing and staff development as our highest priority, so are looking for people who will fit in well with our design teams. The ideal candidate will have: Passion for structural and/or civil engineering Strong academic background Drive, initiative and enterprise Eligibility to work in the UK 5 to 6 successful candidates will be offered placements over the summer period, typically for 6 weeks (although shorter or longer placements are possible) with a competitive salary. Please send your CV and cover letter to: recruitment@expedition. with the subject line ‘Summer Placement 2016’ telling us why you are interested in engineering design consultancy and why you would like to work at Expedition. We will be assessing applications on a rolling basis and making offers from February onwards, however early applications by 28th March are recommended. Expedition Engineering is an award-winning structural and civil engineering design practice. We are the engineers behind many iconic projects from the London 2012 Velodrome, winner of the IStructE 2011 Supreme Award, to Las Arenas in Barcelona, to the Intesa Sanpaolo Tower in Turin, currently the tallest building in Italy. Currently under construction is a ground-breaking project with Renzo Piano; a new home for the Greek National Opera and Greek National Library. Although widely known for our larger schemes, we also take delight in the many innovative smaller and highly-rated sustainable projects (take a look at our website below) which contribute significantly to our workload. Recently completed examples include BREEAM outstanding WWF Living Planet Centre, Stage by the Sea which has won multiple awards including from RIBA and the IStructE, and an unusual “Tensegritree” sculpture at the University of Kent.
