Your Africa Expedition begins as soon as your international flight touches down in Mombasa. Soak in the city vibe in the beautiful beach town of Kenya. Lapped by the Indian Ocean, Mombasa has an amazing shoreline with white sandy beaches, making it the perfect starting point for our expedition. We suggest you practice your ‘Jambo’ (hello) and ‘Asante-sana’ (Thank you very much) before we begin exploring this beautiful continent.

Flag off on the epic Africa Expedition and drive towards the beautiful, rugged wilderness of Tsavo West National Park to get the perfect whiff of your upcoming adventure. It is one of the largest national parks in Africa and is popular for the tales of man-eating lions that inspired the Oscar winning ‘The Ghost and the Darkness’ film in 1996.

Continue onward and head to Nairobi - Kenya’s bustling capital city in a “Beast of a feast” and savour crocodiles, turkey, ostrich, ox balls, pork meat and more at the Carnivore Restaurant. Sample the popular cocktail “Dawa” to hydrate, refresh and sharpen your palate for every delicious morsel.

After exploring Kenyan savannah, get closer to the wildness and begin your great Masai Mara adventure. The Masai Mara National Reserve, without a doubt the best National Park in the World is a land of breath-taking vistas, abundant wildlife and endless plains. Embark on your first game drive in search of Africa’s elusive big cats: the lion, leopard and cheetah.

Tanzania is calling and we’re ready to explore. Yes, this week will start with our first border crossing as we leave behind Kenya and enter Tanzania. The jewel of East Africa, Tanzania is one of the most jaw-dropping countries in the world. A land of pristine natural beauty and natural wonders. If we are lucky, we might witness mesmeriz-ing annual Wildebeest Migration, which is one of the “Seven New Wonders of the World” and known as The World Cup of Wildlife at Serengeti National Park. Over two million animals migrate from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to the greener pastures of the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya from July through to October. Let’s keep our fingers

crossed and hope that we get to experience the wildebeest migration.

After driving through the largest and most famous national park of Tanzania, we will continue towards Ngorongoro, where we can enjoy the unparalleled beauty of one of the world's most unchanged wildlife sanctuaries. Known as ‘Africa’s Garden of Eden’, Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken caldera in the world that formed after an extinct volcano collapsed millions of years ago. Today, this UNESCO World Heritage Centre boasts incredible concentrations of wildlife, which includes elephants, lions, cheetahs, wildebeests, buffaloes, and the rare black rhinos.Who’s excited?

Too much of wildlife in the last week? Not to worry, the prospect of Malawi should lift your spirits as we drive towards the “Warm heart of Africa.” Malawi is informally known as “Africa for beginners” because, it’s one of those places that makes you feel all warm inside. Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world, but you will find some of the continent’s most welcoming people here. One of the nicest things to do in Malawi is to sit back and enjoy the sunset at Lake Malawi. It is the third-largest lake on the African continent and the ninth-largest in the world. The lake has more tropical fish (around 1300 species) than any lake in the world and was dubbed "Lake of Stars" by Dr. David Livingstone. Drive across the border and enter Zambia, the 4th country on our expedition. Zambia is commonly regarded as one of the most beautiful, friendly, diverse and unspoilt countries on the entire African continent. In addition to the majestic Victoria Falls, Zambia has rich rivers, major towns and many national parks that offer the perfect taste of eclectic Zambian culture. Drive from Lusaka, the capital of Zambia to Livingstone, that has become the ‘adventure capital’ of entire Africa.

Jambo, African roamers! This week your eyes will be treated to some of the most captivating and enthralling experiences you will get to encounter on this expedition. From the stunning nature to the humbling people and everything in between, you will feel lucky to experience these beautiful countries on this expedition. Start your week with a visit to Victoria Falls, one of the most spectacular, awe-inspiring waterfalls on our planet. Since it is located on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, you will get to experience it from both sides. Not only is Victoria Falls a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but it is also the largest waterfall in the world. After ticking off the Victoria Falls from your bucket list, get ready to exit Zimbabwe and drive to Botswana – country no. 6 on our expedition.

Botswana is quite varied – there are deserts, savannahs, wetlands, rocky hills and two of the most spectacular tourist attractions in Southern Africa – the Chobe River and Okavango Delta. The best way to experience Okavango Delta, the world’s largest inland delta is by taking a short flight to get a 360-degree view of this unique wetland. Next up, head deeper and explore the wildlife-rich Okavango Delta with a Mokoro Safari. Mokoro are traditional dugout canoes that are perfect to negotiate the narrow delta channels, while you search for local wildlife. After soaking in the beauty of these beautiful countries, we’ll continue our drive to Namibia, country number 7 on Africa Expedition!

Exit the border of Botswana and enter Namibia. To experience the magic of Namibia is to discover an entirely different world, a strange and beautiful place unlike anything or anywhere you’ve ever imagined. Namibia is a land of geographical extremes encompass-ing vast areas of inhospitable deserts and sand dunes, towering mountain ranges and unspoilt wilderness areas.

During this week, head out into the sand dunes at Sossusvlei which means "the gathering place of water" but you'll probably need to bring your own if you don't want to dehydrate yourself at this biggest dune (Big Daddy) on earth.

Don’t forget to spot the enormous sociable weaver nest here. These community living style nests are the

largest built by any bird and can house up to 400-500 birds. Stop and take pictures at Dead Vlei, where burnt-or-ange dunes contrast against blackened camelthorn trees and clear blue skies. It is one of the most dramatic sight that you will see in your life.

Namibia's cities are so fascinating that another destination deserves a mention (we mean visit). Get ready to drive to Swakopmund, the country's biggest coastal town. In Swakopmund, you will experience sand dunes on one side and the ocean on the other. Sounds awesome, right?

P.S: Drive carefully on the gravel roads here if you don’t want to end up with a cracked windshield.

Shark Cage Diving

Table Mountain, Cape Town

Goodbye Namibia, hello South Africa. We’re hitting the road in search of breath-taking landscapes, vibrant cities, friendly people, fascinating wildlife, amazing food and wine. Enjoy the magnificent vistas all throughout the next two weeks. Don’t get confused thinking that you are in Europe, as the roads, the people and the vibe here will give you the feel that you have transported yourself out of Africa and into some picturesque European country. When was the last time you took a ride on the world’s biggest bird or came face to face with one of nature’s mightiest predator? Never, right? Now is a good time to inject a little adrenaline by riding an ostrich and experiencing shark cage diving. Just make sure to keep all limbs and body parts in the cage!

Enough adventure? Fine. Let’s drive through the pretty wine producing region of Stellenbosch. With sights of vineyards covering the gently rolling hills of Stellenbosch, we will stop here for some fine wine tasting. Back on the road and we will drive to Cape Agulhas, the Southernmost Tip of Africa, before reaching Cape Town, the final destination on this expedition. With cosmopolitan edge, incredible beaches, and phenomenal food and wine, Cape Town is Southern Africa’s most beautiful, most romantic and most visited city. There’s just so many things to do in Cape Town that it’s basically a tourist mecca. Visit Robben Island, a world heritage site and museum, it is the prison where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years and continue exploring Table Mountain, the city’s most famous landmark. The last two weeks will end the expedition on the perfect note. You have now accomplished that most people might not even dare to dream.

"If you reject the food, ignore the customs, fear the religion and avoid the people, you might better stay at home." After successfully organizing expeditions around the world, here are some points from our experience that are worth mentioning, so you come not just packed but also prepared for this rewarding and life-changing journey.

• Food: We believe that cooking and eating in a foreign country is the surest and truest way to experience a country. That’s why we make the best possible arrangements for you to sample the best of local delicacies and regional dishes that will leave your taste buds forever in debt! In addition, we also carry emergency stash of packing Indian food for the days when you miss and crave our good old Indian food. Please also consider that there will be some days when the food options will be limited and you may not get the best choices of food items that you are used to, those are the days when your understanding would be highly appreciated.

• Border Crossing: Africa Expedition is a cross border expe-dition which means that you will be crossing through multiple borders during the journey. Passing through land borders is a completely different experience compared to airports. Border crossings can be unpredictable and extremely slow. Although we make all the necessary arrangements before-hand to make the border-crossing process smooth and quick, but you may still have to wait for many hours at certain borders. Patience will be a massive virtue at the borders!

• Accomodation: At the end of a long-distance driving day, we understand the sheer importance of a warm and comfortable stay for you to kick your legs up and relax. That’s why we have carefully picked the best hotels and resorts throughout the journey. However, in some remote areas, we will be staying in basic hotels or will be using more than one property to accommodate the group due to lack of any big hotels.

What to expect in Africa• Long-riding Days and Early Starts: No distance feels long in good company. Every single driving day has been planned after carefully analysing and researching on the road conditions and facilities on route. There will be days when you will have to wake up very early and drive all day long before reaching the destination. On some days, even though the distance may not look too long but you will have to make an early start as we may have many sightseeing activities planned during the day. Trust us, once you reach Cape Town, you won’t even remember the time when you had to leave your cozy bed a little early but you will certainly cherish the tiring days on the road• Planned Sightseeing: It is always the unplanned things that you remember rather than the planned ones! Despite the best of planning and efforts, there’s always the possibility of a few hiccups along the way – breakdowns, bad weather, border issues etc. don’t come announced and these can cause delays which may force us to skip some planned activities. • Rest Days: Shop, sleep or go sightseeing… The motto for rest days is “Your Day, Your Way”. We haven’t planned any activities around the rest days, so you can enjoy complete freedom to plan your day as per your interest. So, go ahead and catch up on sleep or shop to your heart’s desire or just tick off all the local sights… the choice is yours. If you need any help to plan your day, feel free to knock on the door of your tour coordinator’s room for assistance.

• Route Planning: It is fascinating to be out on the road and even more fascinating to take pit-stops and detours! But the route for Africa Expedition has been carefully planned by professionals to ensure that you have the best experience, without compromising on your safety and comfort.

Our task is to make you reach Cape Town by road…safely and on time! We have to obtain special overland driving permits and permissions from govern-ment bodies in many countries and some countries don’t permit us to divert from the designated route. All cars will have to continue driving on the prede-termined route throughout the journey.
