School Use PolicyThe Edson Community Services Departmenthas a reciprocal use agreement with the EdsonPublic and Separate School Boards. Inexchange for the school’s use of Town facilities,Community Services programs andcommunity users are allowed free access to allPublic and Separate Schools. We have accessto school gyms, classrooms and some libraries(approval of use is at the discretion of theschool principal). However, school usereceives priority for all bookings, so if theschool has an event come up, nonschoolusers will be notified and their bookings maybe cancelled. All school and field bookingsmust be made through the CommunityServices Department.Schools will not take your bookings. Call (780)7234403 or check our website for more info atwww.townofedson.ca
RegistrationsFor courses offered by Community Services,please contact the Town of Edson CommunityServices Department at (780) 7234403. For poolprograms, please contact the Leisure CentreSwimming Pool at (780) 7237665 (POOL).REMEMBER: Courses will be taken on firstcome, first serve paid basis. There will be NOPHONE IN REGISTRATIONS. A $25 servicecharge will be levied on all NSF cheques.Courses may be cancelled if registration is low.Complete refunds will be given if a course iscancelled. You will be contacted if a course iscancelled or there are changes in date orlocation. There will be no course refunds afterthe course registration deadline. Ifregistrations are cancelled prior to thedeadline, a $10 cancellation fee will apply. Anypersonal information that you provide to ouroffice is being collected under the authority ofSection 32(c) of the Freedom of Informationand Protection of Privacy Act and will be usedonly in accordance with that act.

Noon Hour BlitzAre you crashing in the afternoon? Notime after work to squeeze in aworkout? Join us for a Fit Blitz that willkick start your afternoon. This classwill be outdoors and will run snow orshine. A combination of cardio andstrength will work your full body. Thisclass will involve some running and/orsnowshoeing depending on weather.

Belly DanceBelly Dance is suitable for all ages and fitness levelsand a marvelous, safe and fun way to exercise. Noprior dance experience is necessary and itdoes not require above average flexibility. It's abeautiful and ancient form of dance that isenjoyed worldwide. There are many styles ofBelly Dance but the style mostly taught will bethe more modern form, developed in the1930's in Cairo, Egypt. This is the style primarilyperformed in restaurants.The Level I beginner course will include thebasic steps for Belly Dance, and a short routinewill be taught throughout the course.The Level II course will include more use ofprops such as veil (props will be provided),more advanced steps, and a routine will betaught throughout the course.Ages 13 and up, Please Dress appropriately:leggings or comfortable pants with somestretch, Tshirt or crop top, dance slippers,bare feet or socks. Mom and Baby YogaA wonderful way to get to know your baby, ina noncompetitive atmosphere, throughinteracting, communicating, playing, touchingand having fun. By getting down to yourbabies level and interacting as an equal, in asafe and nurturing environment, you supportbaby with building confidence in movementand body awareness. Mom's also learn abouttheir changing bodies and how to take time tolook within and begin sharing their life ascreative, healthy mommies. Mom's shouldbring a pillow, blanket and any toy they wantfor soothing their child!

This is a 6.5-hour program. The first two hours will review Level 1. The first part ofthis session will be a sit-down lecture and discussion followed by a brief hands-on exercisesession to try exercises and gain confidence.
