I hope everyone enjoyed all the festivities of Red

Ribbon week. This week we are celebrating Voca-

tion Awareness Week. The details are inside the

newsletter.

Special thanks to SPX Men's Club for hamburgers,

hot dog buns, grills, cooking and workers at the tailgate after the football

game.

Mrs. Scott says…Hello All,

I hope all are having a wonderful week and are preparing for the Halloween fun this weekend. I pray that the weather will allow all our kids to have fun with trick or treating, hay rides, and pump-kin patches! Our fourth graders did a wonderful job with their Saints projects. Their costumes were beautiful and they really presented themselves well. Speaking in front of an audience can be intimidating at times, but they were amazing. I am so proud of them. Great job to Ms. Robles and Ms. Corr for guiding them and helping them! Our fifth graders are doing a project for the Bishop Lynch students. They are making rosaries to take to Costa Rico on their mission trip in the spring. Fifth graders are doing this as part of their rosary unit. In addition to the rosaries, they are including their favorite scripture verse that they have translated into Spanish. We had our first Awards Assembly this week to recognize our students that made the A and AB Honor Roll for the first quarter. It was great to see all the hard work and dedication of these stu-dents and how many students succeeded in maintaining A’s and B’s. I am very proud of all the students. I hope all have a fun weekend. Don’t forget to change the time! We “fall” back one hour!

8th grade Volunteers Needed

All proceeds benefit the Devin Goudie Educational Enrich-

ment Fund at St. Pius X School. Please encourage your 8th

grader to volunteer to help with this fundraiser—we need at

least 4—5 student volunteers. This will count toward their con-

firmation hours. Without the help of volunteers, this fundraiser

would not be possible. These funds are used to subsidize field

trips, bring authors, and theatrical experiences (i.e. Opera in a

box, Windy City Players) to the school students. If needed
