When we open up the Bible to the first page, we come immediately to God who created the beginning of everything you and I know. We learn that God is before all things and has no beginning. God was not created as you and I were. We cannot see Him with our eyes, we just have a declaration from God through His Word about Himself. The question that may come up is this, “Is God real? If so, how do you know and can it be proven? Is it possible to prove the very existence of God to someone?” These are great questions that someone may have asked you or that you may have asked yourself. Can the existence of God be proven to someone? Lets take a few moments and talk about it. Where do we begin to answer such a challenging question? Should we begin with books or people’s opinions? It is only fair if we begin where God, the one we are questioning, begins about Himself. Let us allow Him to speak and establish His case for His existence. In Genesis 1:1, the Bible says, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

THE BIBLE WAY TO HEAVEN

Realize That God Loves You. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).

The Bible Says That All Men Are Sinners. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory to God.” (Romans 3:23).

God’s Word Also Says That Sin Must Be Paid For. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

The Good News Is That Christ Paid for Our Sins. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8).

We Must Personally Pray and Receive Christ by Faith as Our Personal Saviour. The Bible Says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13).

God Declares His Existence As we read Genesis 1:1, the Bible begins with the fact that God already exists. It takes no measures to prove His existence. There are not five or ten reasons given why we should believe He exists. The Bible just declares that God exists and that He is creator of everything. How do we wrap our minds around the existence of God. How do we have a concept of something that is greater than our own reality? Read Hebrews 11:1-6. Notice that faith is the key element. Faith is the evidence of things not seen. Evidence is that which enables the mind to see truth. No one was there in the beginning. You are exercising faith whether you believe in creation by God or you believe

in creation by evolution, chance, and millions of years. Either you are placing faith in the Bible or in the theory of evolution. Neither proponents were there when it all happened. We must take all the evidence present in the world today and see what that confirms.

How can we know that God exists.? Yes, He has declared Himself through His Word but are there other evidences? Read Romans 1:18-19. Notice the Bible says, “that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.” This is saying that the reality and existence of God is revealed inside every person. This is their conscience. The conscience of every person declares that God exists! What evidences would we see today if this is true? We would see most people trying to worship a God. We see this across the world in many religions.

The great proof that God exists is creation. Read Romans 1:20. Notice that the invisible is clearly seen. How can that be? We do not see God, yet through the creation we can see Him clearly. The oxygen in the air you are breathing is invisible. It is clearly seen by the fact that breath is going in and out of you. We are the things that are made in this verse. By the creation of the world we can clearly see and understand God. Creation declares His eternal power and Godhead. It reveals the fulness of all the glory and attributes of God. Read Psalm 19:1-4. Creation speaks all 7,000 spoken languages of the world today. It cries out to all people everywhere that God exists. Every moment of everyday, God’s existence is declared to all men everywhere. Not a moment passes that man is not informed of God. The verdict is given in Romans 1:20, “so that they are without excuse.” Man has no excuse to say He did not know about God. God has revealed Himself in His Word, in the conscience of every living person, and through the creation of the world. God is as real as you and I are!

How do you know it is wrong to kill someone? Read Romans 2:12-16. God has placed His law in every person’s heart. I knew this truth before I ever knew the Bible. Why? It was written on my conscience.
