Other career opportunities include: personal trainer, strength and conditioning specialist, aerobic instructor, geriatric fitness instructor, weight-control counselor, exercise test technologist and community health worker. Exercise science majors are also well prepared to continue their education at the graduate level.

Active LearningExercise science majors are required to complete a practicum of applied field work under professional supervision. Recent student practicum assignments have included the Elkins-Randolph County YMCA, minor league clubs, college athletics, fitness centers, physical therapy clinics, cardiac rehabilitation centers and area hospitals.

Internships not only equip students for a position in their area of interest, they also test and confirm genuine interests in particular fields, and contribute to strong resumés when students seek employment.
