Date”) by and between the undersigned, CDW Government LLC (“Provider”, “Seller” and “we”) and Volusia County

    Schools (“Customer” and “you”).

    PROJECT DESCRIPTION

    PROJECT SCOPE

Seller will migrate three (3) existing Cisco Access Control Server (ACS) 1113 (version 4.2) appliances to three (3) Cisco

Access Control Server (ACS) 1121 (version 5.2) appliances at the Deland facility. The ACS Servers will provide TACACS+

and RADIUS services communication with the network devices, and it will reference the existing Active Directory for

username and password management. Cisco ACS implementation will include the following steps.

Implement a total of three (3) ACS 5.2 1121 appliances.

Migrate the database from the existing primary Cisco Access Control Server (ACS) 1113 (version 4.2) appliance to

primary Cisco Access Control Server (ACS) 1121 (version 5.2) appliance

Integrate with Windows AD for User Name and Password Management

Confirm successful migration of user profiles, and assign device groups

Confirm successful migration configuration of templates for all managed devices (Routers, Switches, APs)

Contrast and compare rule sets between versions 4.2 and 5.2

Additional steps for this project include:

Replication of settings, profiles, groups, etc., from primary ACS Server to secondary servers

Document any errors or bugs within the application software during the migration process

    ACS REPLICATION SERVICES

Database replication helps make the authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) environment more fault tolerant. It

also duplicates parts of the primary server setup to one (1) or more secondary servers, to help create mirror systems of the

Cisco Access Control Server. AAA clients can be configured to use these secondary servers if the primary server fails or is

unreachable. If a secondary server database is a replica of the primary server database, and the primary server goes out of

service, incoming requests are authenticated without network downtime. This happens provided that the AAA clients are

configured to failover to the secondary server.

The primary ACS server will be configured with all of the secondary servers that it will replicate with. Replication can be

done manually or it can be a scheduled process. The primary ACS server is the only server that can schedule replication

times. As noted below, replication is not bi-directional so only the primary server will send data to the secondary servers.

Clients and devices that use ACS for AAA (Authentication, Authorization, Accounting) services will need to have ACS

groups configured to list primary and secondary servers to use. If a primary server fails, the clients will use the next ACS

server that is configured on the list. Client connections will never load-balance or load-share with Customer’s ACS group list.

    IMPLEMENTATION CONSIDERATIONS

Consider these points when the Cisco Secure database replication feature is implemented:

ACS only supports database replication to other ACS servers. All ACS servers that participate in Cisco Secure

database replication must run the same version and patch level of ACS.

The primary server transmits the compressed, encrypted copy of its database components to the secondary server.

This transmission occurs over a TCP connection, with port 2000. The Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) session

is authenticated and uses an encrypted, Cisco−proprietary protocol.

AAA Servers list under Replication Partners, on the Cisco Secure database replication page.

The primary server must be configured as an AAA server and must have a key. The secondary server must have the

primary server configured as an AAA server and its key for the primary server must match the primary servers own

    key.

Replication to secondary servers takes place sequentially in the order listed in the Replication list under Replication

Partners, on the Cisco Secure database replication page.

The secondary server, which receives the replicated components, must be configured to accept database replication

from the primary server. To configure a secondary server for database replication, refer to the Configuring a

Secondary Cisco Secure ACS Server section of this document.

ACS does not support bi−directional database replication. The secondary server, which receives the replicated

components, verifies that the primary server is not on its Replication list. If not, the secondary server accepts the

replicated components. If so, it rejects the components.

ACS Servers that are behind NAT devices could cause replication issues as replication keys can become corrupted.

To replicate user−defined RADIUS vendor and vendor−specific attribute (VSA) configurations successfully, the

definitions to be replicated must be identical on the primary and secondary servers. This includes the RADIUS

vendor slots the user−defined RADIUS vendors occupy. For more information about user−defined RADIUS

vendors and VSAs, refer to the User−Defined RADIUS Vendors and VSA Sets section of the document Cisco

    Secure ACS Command−Line Database Utility.

    PREREQUISITES

Ensure that Customer meets these requirements before you attempt this configuration:

All appliances must use the same version of Secure ACS software and patch levels.

TCP port 2000 (destination port used for replication) must not be blocked anywhere along the path between the ACS

    servers.

Ensure that remote access to the Secure ACS user interface uses TCP port 2002. For example, https://ipaddress:2002

Note: If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 6.0 in order to access the Secure ACS HTML user interface,

ensure that your browser meets these requirements:

    ○ Microsoft Windows Service Pack 1 (English and Japanese language versions)

    ○ Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (JVM) version 5.00.3810

    ○ Sun Java plug−in version 1.5.

    Network and Port Requirements

    ○ For full TACACS+ and Radius support on Cisco IOS devices, AAA clients must run Cisco IOS Release

    11.1 or later

    ○ Non-Cisco IOS AAA clients must be configured with TACACS+, RADIUS, or both

    ○ Dial-in, VPN, or Wireless clients must be to connect to the applicable AAA clients.

    ○ Active Directory Users require that Dial-In permissions be selected for authentication to work.
