The focal point of the Executive Board Programme is the connection between strategy, development and value creation in the board room. You will get a theoretical platform and practical tools for making the right decisions and becoming an even more valuable board member.

MODULE IVenue: Engø Gård Duration: 2 days

Module I of the Executive Board Programme focuses on the roles and responsibilities of the board and the individual director in a Norwegian context. You will learn about the legal framework governing boards in Norway. The lecture will be a mix of theory on legal requirements and duties combined with real life board dilemmas. We

will cover corporate issues as well as the legal framework that sets the stage for cooperation between the Board and the Executives. Theory will be put into perspective by Inge Hansen, one of Norway’s most prominent Chairmen. He will provide recommendations and advice based upon his board management and board experience.

In addition, we will discuss the most relevant challenges facing the boards of tomorrow and how to deal with these challenges in the most effective way. This part of Module I will also address the relationship between management and the board. These discussions will be continued at INSEAD. The afternoon of day 2 will be devoted to board dynamics

of internal communication in the boardroom combined with external stakeholder communication. You will learn how self-insight about your own preferred communication style, will enable you to create improved board dynamics and a stronger performance, when communicating with external stakeholders and media.

MODULE IIVenue: INSEAD, Fontainebleau Duration: 4 days

In this module, INSEAD will introduce you to a framework that enables you and your board to overcome the most common and critical challenges that face a board. We will focus on the corporate governance landscape with a special attention to trends and applications of board effectiveness practices. Additionally, we will look at risk management by the board from a value creation perspective.

You will learn how the board most effectively participates in the strategy process, focusing on the inherent differences between management and board perspectives. The decision-making process within the board is a central part of this module, and you will work with real-life cases to enhance your decision-making skills. A key takeaway from this module is the ability to increase value creation in the interaction between board and management.

After graduating from the Executive Board Programme, you will have the opportunity of participating in the Executive Forum.

You will be challenged and inspired at seminars and meetings delivered in association with INSEAD, with some of the world’s leading faculty. You will experience a unique and strong programme where high quality in teaching, presentation of the newest knowledge and networking are the key components. The seminars will take place in Denmark.
