Panelists’ advice to women on reaching the C-suite• Push yourself into uncomfortable spaces and hard projects

because they force growth and can get you noticed.

• Don’t overinvest in making the work perfect. Do get out there and build relationships.– Your effectiveness does not begin and end with your work/work product.

As you gain seniority, it relies increasingly on the quality of workplace relationships too.

• Find five people who really see you and will tell you the truth and encourage you.

• Good mentors are your personal board of advisors; sponsors are your lobbyists. You need both.

• Get on corporate boards. – These are uniquely substantive platforms for drawing decision makers and

thought leaders into your personal network.
