Urban Planning and Policy DesignFounded in 1962, in Ahmedabad (India) by Balkrishna Doshi, 2018 Pritzker Prize laureate, as “School of Architecture” (SA), its expanded five faculties as “Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology” fully flourished to become “CEPT University” by 2010.CEPT University plays a leading role in Indian academic education of five significant disciplines: Architecture, Urban Planning, Technology, Design, and Management. The university focuses on building professional capacities through specific design activities, engaging students with contemporary city issues. The Faculty of Planning has a constructive impact on Indian local and national public planning, current participatory projects, and policymaking. Study Planning at CEPT provides tools to work on a large scale on the most relevant topic for cities development. It gives relevant academic approaches and pragmatic teaching, within a successful collaboration between experts, students and government bodies. Studying at CEPT represents a deep immersion in a vital context, in continuous change; where to build a different, articulated and relevant approach to the design issues.
