POETRY

A poetry contest was held at CDA during the last few months. Everystudent memorized and presented a poem to his or her class. Thefinalists went on to present theirpoems to the entire school bodyduring recess for a week or so.

SHORT STORY

Each student from middle school to high school had to write two short stories to enter the contest. One was in Spanish and one in English. This contest consisted on a five paragraph story in the form of an essay.

ORIGAMI

This contest was held a week ago. Itconsisted on giving participatingstudents a peice of paper and instructions. Each student had tocomplete the given figure. Thestudent who did it the best wouldwin the contest. Origami is an art

CDA IDOL

CDA Idol consists of a group of participating students audicioningat the library or classroom. All of the students participating haveagreed and concent to singing in front of the school for the finals.

JOURNALISM

During this contest, students will getinto groups and film a video aboutrecent news that they have seenaround and pose their opinion onthe topic as well as inform theviewer about it.

PHOTOGRAPHY

The photography contest will consistof signed up students who will takewonderful pictures to win an award. This will help the entire school seethat a good photograpy is art and not just technique.

FIRST ASSEMBLY

The first assembly was held at thebeginning of the year. Thisassembly was made to explain whatthe year would consist about, whatstudents would do, the contests, etc.

SECOND ASSEMBLY

The second assembly was recentlyheld in the gym. In this assembly, some awards were given because of the poetry and spanish short story, and Fourth of July was celebrated. The students who participated in this assembly also explained theupcoming contests.

FUTURE ASSEMBLIES

During the future assemblies, as wellas the past ones, the studentsorganizing the event will give outawards . The lovely aseemblies to beheld in the future will congratulatethose who have won several prizesand excelled in doing so.
