Organising Classes For 2018—from the last newsletter
Parent requests (confidential) for consideration of a 2018 placement for their child should have an educational basis and should be sent to Mr Liddelow, in writing or by email, ([email protected]) by Tuesday 28 November 2017. Every effort will be made to place your child according to your wishes although this is not always possible due to the many factors that must be considered for every child when organising class lists.
Once class lists have been established, it will not be possible to move students between classes in 2018.
Year 4 2018 1-1 iPad Parent Meeting Tuesday 5 December 6pm

Students will be using specific apps to com-pliment learning, teaching and assessment activities, as well as becoming very familiar with managing devices, learning about cyber safety and using the device to: * Increase learner effectiveness
* Increase learner efficiency
* Improvement learner engagement and satisfaction
* Improve positive student attitudes to learning
St John Ambulance — Jane
At this week’s Faction Assembly, Jane presented and discussed what to do if you or a family member / friend were ever bitten by a snake or suffer from burns of some sort. Students were very attentive and could repeat procedures they had just heard and seen. Safety and knowing what to do are critical for the survival and future quality of life for snake bite victim and fire victims.
P&C Disco Excelsior Undercover Area
As this is a school event, parents and carers are reminded that it is against the law to smoke, drink alcohol or bring dogs and other pets to school. Please continue to observe these laws for the health and safety of all children.
School Gates
All gates (except Admin gates on Shreeve Rd) will be closed daily at 9:15am and re-opened from 2:50pm. During the day all visitors must sign in through the office. The health, well being and safety of our students is of paramount importance, every day.
Kind regards

A2’s ASSEMBLY
A2 had a wonderful time participating in our first assembly. We all enjoyed speaking on the microphone and dancing to the Octopus's garden song. It was great to see everyone trying to copy our dance moves. Awesome air guitars everyone!

EXCELSIOR CHESS
Last week on Tuesday 14 November a group of Excelsior students from years 3 to 6 walked over to Forest Crescent to play chess. Their chess group showed us around the school and we had lunch together. We all enjoyed our games, it was a very fun day!
Planning for the 2018 school year is now underway. In order for us to plan accurately for our staffing and class numbers we need to know if your family is not returning to Excelsior Primary in 2018. If your family is not return-ing to Excelsior Primary next year, would you kindly let the office staff know you are leaving and where your family will be attending school in 2018.
EXCELSIOR’S NUMERO TEAM
ARE YOU LEAVING EXCELSIOR?
Page 3
Guess what!! The Excelsior Leapfrogs came 2nd in the Interschool Numero finals , with
only 4 points between us and Allandale with 504 points. We have been training hard for
an amazing outcome and fun experience. Before the finals we also competed in a heat
with two other Excelsior teams, but only I made it through to the finals. We won $100 in
the heat and another $500 in the finals which will be spent upgrading our school maths
resources. We are super proud of our efforts and can’t wait for more outstanding Numero
heats. The Leapfrogs consisted of Ella, Ashley, Lauren and Camryn.
