Interrelate

Interrelate classes commenced this week for stage 3 students. This is a very valuable program that helps students to explore a range of adolescent issues including relationships, and their changing bodies. The program will continue for the next two weeks on Tuesdays.

Skoolbag

Please ensure that you regularly check for notifications about app updates on Skoolbag. There have been some issues regarding explanations for student absences that we suspect are due to the app not being updated.

Invitation for parents to visit 6D and 6B

6B and 6D have moved into the first refurbished classroom. The transition to this classroom has gone very smoothly. All students across K-6 have visited the classroom and it is very exciting to see a sample of the learning spaces that Excelsior will have in 2020. We would like to invite

parents to come and visit these classrooms on Friday 15th March from 9am- 9:30am. Please take this opportunity to view our new learning spaces.

Excelsior

Public School P&C Association

Dear Parents, I would like to thank Dearne B and Alana R, some of our long time P&C members who are finally taking a break after 8 years or more on the P&C in various positions. These ladies have been there organising many of the events of the past and ensuring this school and it’s students have the best time and get the best resources. Thank you for all your time, contributions and passion for this community. On another note, we are still in need of a secretary for the uniform shop and regular helpers. We have over 540 students so that means we have at least that many parents out there. Can you spare some time? We have a number of exciting events coming up too, so please be on the lookout for calls for volunteers to help. Volunteering is a great way to see what goes on in the school and meet other parents. The Excelsior P&C (Parents & Citizens) Association is run by unpaid volunteer parents who are giving their time to provide your kids with extra-curricular activities, fun events and resources for the school to help with the education of your children. Most of the committee members also work full-time in a paid job outside the school. Please consider contributing some of your time to this great school community. Please contact me if you are interested in being involved in the P&C in any way. Sharon Evert P&C President

P&C EVENTS

Election Day at Excelsior Public School

This year on 23 March 2019 there will be the State Government Election and Excelsior Public School will be hosting a polling booth. This is a perfect opportunity for us to raise funds for our school, so as we have in past years we will be offering a BBQ, drinks and cake stall to raise funds for our school.

We are looking for some keen bakers to

whip up some cakes and slices and donate

them to our cake stall - any cake would be

great! Please bring your cake to the office on Friday 22 March or simply bring it with you when you come to vote on Saturday. Please label your cake and list any ingredients that are in it to help people with allergies.

We are also looking for some volunteers to

help us on the BBQ with bacon and egg

rolls and sausage sandwiches. All help

would be greatly appreciated.

If everyone puts their hand up to help out it will only require each volunteer for 1 hour or so. To volunteer please contact [email protected].
